Bunch of lazy jerks...

Since we last left our heroine...

I had a birthday last Tuesday, for which I did... nothing. I slept in (as usual), sat around (as usual), showered (again, usual), then went out for dinner with my family. Even my brother (who hadn't been home in over a week... and has yet to return since) came! My parents spent the majority of dinner grilling him about his outlandish plans to get married and move to Alaska. Then we came home and had cake and ice cream!

This would be the "before" picture. There's a whole lot of candles on that cake!

And here's the "after" picture. Those little candles sure do melt fast (and all over the cake)! The final verdict was that I only managed to blow out 25 of my 27 candles. It's hard to summon that kind of lung capacity when you're laughing. :p

In other news, last Friday, the guys doing some work on the cable down the road from my house hit the water main and my house was without water for about 3 hours. And naturally, it was during that three hour span that I was planning on showering before I went to work. :p I ended up having to wash my hair with some "emergency water" (which is water we had been storing in old Arizona Tea jugs since the last time my mom got worried that a hurricane was going to hit us). It was cold and unpleasant and I don't wish to ever do it again. It was just this afternoon that we finally got the ok to stop boiling any water we intended to use for drinking or cooking.

And lastly, I have an announcement to make! Sort of.

I think I'm going to move to Pensacola. That's where Cinnamon is (hopefully) going to grad school come January, and the school she'll be attending also offers Japanese language classes. They don't offer a Japanese major (and I don't really know what I'd do with such a thing if I got a degree in it anyway), but I figure I could always just get my AA finally and take the Japanese language courses as my electives. And once I have that... hopefully I'll have a better idea of what I want to do for the rest of my schooling, even if it would require me to transfer to a different school to find the major I want.

The important thing is I'll be out of the house (finally... again!) and doing something to better myself for the long run I hope. So what do you think, oh lovely ladies of livejournal? Good idea or greatest idea?

P.S. One of the pompoms came off the pull-string on my bathrobe. This is sad news. ;__;
