This morning, my first assignment here in the Executive suite was to take one of the professors' resumes and "fix it".
By "fix it" I mean that some words had to be ommitted on the cover page, and also someone *cough*president*cough* had written all over the top page. So clean-up was assigned to me.
Using my mad cut and paste skills that I honed while working with contracts at Verizon, ahem, I was able to make it like shiny new.
The funny thing was, on one of my trips to the copier, I ran into the professor who's resume it was. As I was standing there talking to him, he asked, "What is that in your hand?" I was like, "um, your resume." And he was like, "That's what I thought." I explained why I had it, and he seemed cool with that. heh.
Also this morning, myself, and the same professor wenton a mad search for a portrait I did that I wanted to enter into a contest that is being judged today. I thought it was in one of the offices, but it wasn't. I have a sneaking suspicion that my prof took it home with her for some reason. At least-- it wasn';t in the office that she uses. This is mildly annoying and disappointing, since the contest is only open to first years, so this is my only opportunity to apply. Not that I think mine would have won, but it seems to me that the more exposure I give my work to the faculty, the better it will be for me in the long run. *shrug* Oh well.
On a brighter note, some of my work has made it into the student show, so that has to count for something. It was interesting to hear how the profs talk about the students when I was helping to jury someof the sophomores stuff on monday. Makes me wonder what they have to say about me. ;)
