So I got back from Orientation today! It was a good time despite the lousy weather and boring presentations. But I learned a lot about on campus jobs and study abroad options and things like that and I had a good time with my Jen

Being delayed for a semester really isn't the end of the world. And really, if you decide that you REALLY want to do this, then you can. Simple as that.
I'm sure there are study guides and books that are recommended... so just get them and start studying! I bet you can do it in less than that amount.
Because seriously? I went to university at 18, and basically didn't do anything for the first year except drink, and I didn't figure out what I was going to do until my second year. So, if that's the average? That means there are some that are doing it in less.
My biggest issue with being delayed a semester is that's another semester of loans I have to take out and I'd like as few loans as possible.
It's basically just grammar and I have a book on that and I know the internet has it as well, so the studying part I'm not too worried about.
I'm not even sure if it's what I want anymore. I don't know if I'm just tired or frustrated or overly cranky, but I don't know. I'm doubting whether it's the right major, 1000% doubting if it's the right school. But maybe I wouldn't be if this wasn't such a hassle that I feel shouldn't be necessary.
I just don't know if that's what I want though. Like, if it was something I was in love with forever, then I think I could be okay with it, but I'm not sure it's my passion that I want to follow forever.
I mean, I have vague dreams. But people always say, "Get a job where you'll be happy to go to work every day!" and like, how do you do that?? How do you know what you'll be happy doing every day? Unless your job is to eat donuts and reblog things on tumblr or whatever.
Hey, babe, come on. Study now and don't start fretting. You don't have to get it the first time, and it's always going to be hard to succeed at what you really want, but that doesn't mean you start giving up!
I know. I just don't know if it is what I really want or if something else won't make me happier or just as happy without the hassle of the test or extra semesters/student loans because I hate loans the worst.
I feel like your icon is trying to kick me out of Canada.
:/ Just be sure you're not questioning if it's what you want only because of this. Just giving up so there's no hassle and moving onto second choice is no way to go through life.
Nonsense!! Fraser welcomes you to Canada with open arms.
I understand what you mean. I was kind of thinking of it on the train ride up to Kissimmee actually, like...they have all those small towns with awful cell phone reception (at one point, I couldn't get a phone signal or 3G) and I was wondering what it was like to live in a small town and if it was nice and thinking that as a PR specialist, living in a small town probably wasn't feasible unless I wanted to commute. Which is probably silly because I like having more than one movie theater to choose from and reliable phone signals, but it was just a thought.
Unfortunately finding a major that works for you and jumping through the appropriate hoops to find what you can work with is a big problem I know all too well. I had to declare my major through a different college to avoid a 4 semester foreign language requirement that I could never meet in my wildest dreams.
My advice is get as much information as you can, make the advisers of the department you're interested in your friends because they have all of the information and they want to help. Then when you have as much information as you can get, make the choice that seems best for you.
