Lavender practically ran out of the hospital after her appointment with Cecilia, fumbling with the
buttons of her jacket as she stepped back outside into the bitter cold. Though, she was far too excited to feel the temperature change at all. Her mind was racing, skin buzzing, legs carrying her quickly down the street. Normally she would have just apparated to Roger's flat but she needed to get out some energy and the only way to do that was to run (or at least power walk).
The news had been weighing heavily on her these past few months. As much as she had tried to move past it there was always something there to remind her. Whether it was getting to know Lily or reading about yet another Burning Man attack, Lavender couldn't escape her own personal nightmare.
She had tried to convince herself that adoption was a possible option out there for her. After all, there were so many children who needed loving homes and families. As long as she was building that life with Roger she would be okay. And for a while that life seemed manageable to her.
But that was before her appointment this afternoon.
Once she reached Roger's building she opted for the stairs, taking them two at a time, before finding his floor. Lavender dashed down the hall, holding onto her knit cap so that it wouldn't fly off of her head.
She knocked on his door, fist slamming against the wood over and over until she heard his foot steps and the door creaked open.
"WE'RE HAVING A BABY!" she announced.
