The other thing about my landlords' vine and fig tree, unfortunately, is the fact that the figs right now are both very large and very ripe, which means that they fall off the tree when you're crossing the driveway and hit the concrete with a resounding splat, and the next thing you know you're up to your ankles in fig goo and the bees adore you ( Read more... )

Ancient Instrument Revived by Computing

Maybe I'm missing something, but somehow I feel like it would have been easier to hire a luthier.

Vancouver Opera's current production of Rigoletto is kind of like a cross between Julie Taymor's Titus and a book of nursery rhymes, with a little added Cell Block Tango. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about that.
