I've been lurking at the IchiRuki discussion thread at Bleach Asylum lately. There are so many interesting posts I feel like I'm swimming in text. I've been scrolling down like there's no tomorrow, and there are *still* a hundred or so pages left to go.
Anyway, I got this from them, and they got it from somewhere else. Aren't memes like diseases? :) It was impossible to resist.
1. Who do you like more, Ichigo or Rukia?
Rukia.
2. What do you like about Ichigo?
Absolute loyalty, the optimism of his youth, and his whole façade of being cool when he’s just one big orange-haired marshmallow when it comes to saying “no” to girls half his size!
3. What do you like about Rukia?
She’s lived a long time, she’s loved and lost, and yet she deals with it. I want to age like her: gracefully.
4. Which chapter made you fall in love with IchiRuki?
I watched the anime first, so I have to answer - the juice box scene on the rooftop. I saw that and I just thought, ohh… kinky.
In the manga, it's the moment when Rukia tells Ichigo to relax and to just enjoy the shooting of Don Kanoji and Ichigo starts thinking, "oh, she's nice..." and he seems to be looking at her legs!
It helps when the security guys start tearing them apart and they start yelling for each other.
5. What is your ideal IchiRuki scene? (Manga or non-manga is acceptable)
anime: when they run towards each other to confront Grand Fisher and they are “talking” to each other though thought alone
manga: bridge scene, of course
6. Are there any other pairings you know which are similar to IchiRuki in any way?
For the bickering, I’d have to say Ranma and Akane (please don’t shoot me). Good thing Ichigo doesn’t turn into a girl whenever he uses a Shinigami badge.

Asterisk - their matching tennis whites
Tonight, Tonight - when Rukia jumps past Ichigo, and he seems to reaching out for her
Movin’ - the whole thing is IchiRuki, but I like the bit where she’s walking behind him (I don’t know if this is still customary in Japan, but before a good wife walks three paces behind her husband, so I find it sweet in a really strange way.)
8. Do you think IchiRuki is romantic? Give an example.
Most of the rescue scenes are romantic. When Ichigo still tries to get up to stop Aizen when his body is almost skewered in half -- that's romantic.
When they talk in the field outside the Shiba house.
It’s pure anime filler, but another field scene is during the Bount arc and they’re standing side by side, having just re-entered Soul Society, and then the girl mod soul Ririn gets all jealous and calls them disgusting.
9. Using Ichigo, Rukia and Orihime, draw a correlation diagram detailing their feelings for each character.
It’s too hard to diagram. Orihime thinks she’s in love with Ichigo, but it’s really just a girlish crush.
Ichigo’s in love with Rukia.
Rukia loves Ichigo, but is maybe still deciding whether it’s romantic or not. Remember, she has more emotional baggage than he has.
Rukia loves Orihime as a friend. Orihime loves Rukia as a friend yet is jealous of her as a rival, but may possibly back down when she grows up and realizes that men do not change their minds about these types of things. They either love you or they don’t.

When Rukia is speaking to Renji in my fics, she refers to him as “that boy” or “the pup.” But mostly he's just Ichigo.

She’s too old for nicknames, although I think she would secretly like a pet name from Ichigo.

16. Do you think this pairing is a Bleach version "Romeo and Juliet"?
No. Romeo and Juliet is about a pair of insane, horny kids who kill themselves for a few moments of passion. I always felt that the play is about the ephemeral nature of love; I want something more lasting for Ichigo and Rukia: a love that conquers death and not the other way around.
17. Who do you think is a potential rival to this pairing?
No one. Orihime is not a rival in the true sense of the word. She cannot be a rival because Ichigo has yet to show any real romantic interest in her. Byakuya might be a potential hindrance, but lately he's been thawing out. The real problem of this relationship is their situation: they belong to different parts of the reincarnation cycle.
18. What fanworks have you done for this pairing?
Mostly fanfiction.
19. How big a chance do you think this pairing will happen for real?
90% but I think it will be done with a lot of subtlety. Kubo is not going to end this series with a kiss. Most likely it will end with a kick in the head.
20. Are you happy with what has happened in the manga (regarding this pairing) so far?
Rukia has been gone too long it bothers me. But I know that if a timeline is worked out, her actual disappearance will just be a matter of hours (or even a day) so I try not to let it bother me TOO much.
21. Will you still support this pairing through fanworks if it does not happen?
I do not believe this pairing will not push through; or to be clearer, the only way this pairing will not happen is if the manga has a vague, open-ended artsy ending like... hmm, the "Twin Peaks" movie.
22. Where do you think they will go on a first date?
First dates are for people who do not know each other. Ichigo and Rukia do not need to go on any dates. They've already lived with each other, after all. I'm pretty sure Rukia has heard Ichigo snore and Ichigo has heard Rukia pass gas. It's a small bedroom, after all.
23. Who do you think will initiate? Ichigo or Rukia?
Again, I don’t think they will go on a date! They will have lots and lots of non-dates. Non-dates that involve slaying Hollows before eating out, attending Shinigami meetings in between make-out sessions… you get the picture. The only date they ever need is their wedding date.
24. Why do you think some people oppose this pairing?
I believe some people oppose this pairing because of Rukia’s age and maturity; since they can’t relate to her past experiences, they would rather have Ichigo end up with a character they relate to or fits their ideal of a physically perfect woman.
25. Who do you see cooking for the other? Ichigo or Rukia?
I already wrote my thoughts on this matter in “Insatiable,” but if you’re not into lemons let me recap: Ichigo cooks. Rukia watches. Then Ichigo stops cooking to… uhm, eat.
There is nothing sexier than a man who knows how to toast his chili spices in the hot skillet, unless it’s a woman who can make her own chocolate truffles (ahem, ahem.) I don’t really see Rukia cooking but I can teach her to make the truffles.
