semi-annual update

I have now given up on regular journal entries. You will maybe get one spring, one fall. I am hoping to soon transition this into an annual hardcopy Christmas letter. We shall see.

So, I still love my job. My boss says I will probably get a promotion at the end of the year to associate editor. That's basically a full editor position, as opposed to my current junior editor position. In addition to getting to make changes on my own authority, I also get two monitors. Yay!

I took Ben home to meet my sister. She loved him. I am happy. My whole family thinks he is almost as great as I think he is, and he loves them also. So life is good.

While I was home, I described some odd neuropathy I've been having in my hands/arms lately. The conversation went something like:
Me: So, is that...
Parents:Yes, it is.
Me: Well, crap.

So I now wear carpal tunnel braces at night.

Am having gum grafts put on next week for periodontitis. I hear that injections of osteoporosis drugs is also effective, but that's pretty new. Also, life is better without a gallbladder than with one that doesn't work properly, but you should really hang on to yours if you can.

Loved the new Harry Dresden book. It fixed everything that was wrong with the last one. Except that Jim Butcher, for some reason, thinks that Satan is an archangel. Maybe I should write him to tell him that he's a seraph?

I love Mumford & Sons. I also like Cage the Elephant, but M&S have actual musical talent, so I think I will still love them in 10 years. CtE, not so much.

I am teaching 8th grade CCD this year. Any advice?
