Why do people need religion? Is it that they really need something to follow, or that they need something to place their faith in, or do they need something to give them faith? Why do people let other people give them their values and beliefs? Why wouldn't you want to do that for yourself? And then that leads to, who decides who is right or

hmm...im an athiest too, but my mom doesnt really like it. she is catholic, and she made me make my confirmation, but she said i could choose my religion after i made it. so i chose no religion. i just find all of that stuff to be really had to believe. and my mom thinks i need to pick some religion because its important to have faith in something. like...her example is "if everything is going wrong, you need to have something to fall back on". in my opinion, i dont need anything. im not the sort of person that will ever want to "turn to jesus". thats great for all of those people who do believe in it and they say that jesus saved them or helped them get through their hard times. its just not me. i dont believe in it and i dont think i should have to have faith in anything. i guess thats not exactly what your post was about...i guess what i mean is, some people do like that stuff. i just dont think its right that anyone should be forced into it. (luckily my mom seems to have forgotten the subject, although i think its only because she doesnt really like the catholic church either.)
