L.A. -- "Real" life

Nov 18, 2007 17:11

As anyone who knows me, Isomeme, and the keed (not sure what she's called this week) knows about us, we love living in L.A. and all the quirky things about it.  One of those things is how thin the line between real and not-so-real can be.  This can suck, if for instance you like a particular restaurant or other public place, because everything is ephemeral, and all you can really do is paraphrase The Razor's Edge from when someone dies..."it will not be missed."  Sometimes it's good, though, like living on the borders of fairie.

Isomeme and I went to see No Country for Old Men, as I mentioned we were planning on doing.  It was at the very swank Arclight Theater, itself transformed from the Cinerama Dome.  In the lobby, they had a large display...the "original costumes" from the upcoming Beowulf.

Beowulf is made in CGI.

Heck, they should have displayed Grendel, in a cage.

Gotta love it.
