The summer is so nice. I'm going to get way too used to this. Having the weekends to just do whatever I want, getting enough done (which I am MOSTLY doing but not quite), hanging out with everyone, it's great. And the weather too : ) I cleared out some stuff out of my closet and drawers that I haven't worn since I moved here... it was hard, but definitely a good idea. I think I keep looking at all the clothes that I'm really not crazy about wearing and then get frustrated and say "I have nothing to wear!!" Which of course is not true at all, I have way too many clothes. I decided to get rid of a lot of really cute stuff, but the point is it's just not flattering on me anymore. We should definitely have a clothes swap though because I'd like to see them go to good homes.
Saturday I went shopping with
slinky_samurai and
jisalynn at Eastview which was so much fun. I got 3 pairs of earrings and some other goodies, and I was going to get perfume but I took forever and then couldn't decide on one. (Sorry Ashley and Patty for being so obnoxious with that!) But then later in the day I went to Marketplace to track down this one perfume I'd read about and wanted to see if I liked it, and I really do like it. I think that once I get a lot of code written, I will reward myself with getting it. Mmm it smells so good. Also on Saturday I ate half a hamburger and did not get sick. And it was oh so delicious. I really had forgotten about that.
Today I woke up really early to be in an fMRI study. It was one where I had to do a task and it was longer than the other one I'd done, where I just had to lay still and relax and listen to my music. So I was a little nervous because I can get claustrophobic sometimes (shh don't tell), and most tasks are really boring, but this one was great. People would either gesture or use sign language to describe something and you had to pick one of two pictures for what they were describing. And it featured two people I knew doing the crazy animated gestures, so that was HIGHLY entertaining. Ask me about it later, or maybe bribe Nina into letting you see the stimuli. And I got paid $30 for 90 minutes and it wasn't even boring. Then I went to church, came home, took a nap for a couple of hours, then continued cleaning out my closet and drawers. Then I helped Ashley with her sticky door, we went out for Mexican food and ran into
groorg1 and Alex. Joel was surprised to see me eating Mexican food in Rochester, I told him it was all a matter of standards. The food was fine, and the sopapilla was actually pretty good. I was skeptical when it came out, since it was flat, but it was tasty. And then Ashley and I met Austin's dad and brother, and then we watched Spirited Away. I love that movie. It's so beautiful and fantastical, it's so weird to think it's the work of adults' imagination.
Maybe I should get to bed. Good night!
