Bats, Bats, Bats
Just a quick post to let you guys know a couple of things.
We refinanced this house. My mortgage payments will be a couple of hundred dollars less per month. That means, by the time my mom doesn't live here anymore, I'll be able to make the payments myself.
My dad should be moving into a nursing home this week. He doesn't walk at all anymore, and transferring him takes two people sometimes. I have our home health worker here until 9:00 now, to help put him to bed. It was his idea to go -- he's going to miss my mom, of course, but we're going to visit him a lot. We found a nursing home that's not ideal, but it has immediate openings. The one I was waiting for, Tender Care, is still a possibility -- we can transfer him if we want.
I had a bat in my house, ironically, on Halloween night. It was our guest all the next day, and we finally got it out Thursday night.
We felt the effects of the hurricane here, but it was very mild. There were waves on Lake Michigan bigger than a lot of people remember ever seeing. People were surfing in Lake Michigan.
