Friday, sleepy, but I'm preparing for a productive (fingers crossed, anyway!) weekend. Because I am seeking inspiration, a list of Things to Assist Productivity:
*
this shot from a Peter-Lindbergh-shot
July 2010 editorial fashion thing. In this shot, I suddenly understand in a deep and visceral way the appeal of Ewan McGregor. (I blame the white shirt, loose at the neck, and the general air of louche desperation. Mmmmm.)
Side-note: apparently, fashion editors have all been dipping into the
Douglas Sirk back-catalog; the June 2010 British Vogue had a spread entitled "So Far From Heaven," featuring similar suburban angst in cocktail attire as worn by Shalom Harlow. I am embarrassed to say that I don't get D Sirk, really, and will flee to late 50s Stanley Donen films instead for my hit of 50s style.
*a recycled-glass pitcher, shimmering not-quite-green, and filled with ice water
*that bottle of Albarino in my fridge, which I'll open tomorrow, maybe
*grey England-summer rain, slow and steady and non-threatening, which my subtropical town enjoyed this morning. (I -- with umbrella -- walked the Blonde Dog around the deserted park. She kept looking around to see where everyone else was...)
*id-vortexy dreams of cowboy boots and cool adobe rooms and candleflame
What's inspiring you right now? May it be with you all weekend! :-)
