Well, jeez. I look up and almost four weeks have gone by since I posted here.
It has been an awful, horrible, no-good month, except that I got to go to Oregon for the first time (for work) and I loved my fleeting visit. Otherwise, awful, horrible, no-good.
Today, however, I had tea with a friend downtown. I enjoyed a very rare cool morning (for June). I started my lists again for the work and home and writing tasks ahead. I played with Master Danger, for values of 'played' which don't involve play.
And I spent a delightful few minutes thinking about the question posed by the Georgette Heyer fan twitter account today, asking about whom one would cast for various Heyer heroes and heroines. Some of the various suggestions from others I would endorse: Tom Hiddleston would be a great Gervase from The Quiet Gentleman, and Richard Armitage would be a cracking good Damerel from Venetia, and although Aidan Turner's too old, he could give us a convincing Vidal from Devil's Cub. I'm feeling B Cumberbatch for Avon in These Old Shades because of The Voice. I will now spend a few moments trying to place dear sweet B Carvel somewhere in the canon...
Who would you cast in your favorite book, Heyer or not?
Cheers, and may it be sooner than July before I post again...
