I just realized that I have a pretty extensive reading list over this break if I accomplish everything I want to. I want to get through my two english novels so I don't have to bother with them after the break/during reading week (when I want to go away and not have to read a stupid novel). Right now I'm reading "Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens. I'm finding it really hard to get through, I'm really not a fan of the style of writing. I've been reading it for three days and was aiming at 100 pages a day so I could finish it in five days. I'm currently on page 220, or something like that. After that, I have "Beloved" which looks quite a bit shorter but I don't know if I can survive two novels for my class in a row.
Then I have to catch up on all the anthro readings I fell behind on since the exam. I haven't done any readings since the midterm at THE END OF OCTOBER! Which is AT LEAST four readings per week for a month that I have to catch up on. Damn, I'm dumb. I shouldn't have let myself fall behind that badly but I kind of shut down after midterm. Although, I am kind of excited to get started on the other ethnography, it seems pretty interesting from what we've talked about in class. A lot about rites of passage and stuff, which seems really cool.
I now have time to do all this reading since I'm not wasting so much time on the computer, because my MSN isn't working. Ugh, my internet isn't even technically working, I'm stealing my neighbour's signal and have been for the past two weeks. The problem with this is, the signal is pretty weak and the internet moves slowly/keeps crapping out on me so if you know anyone or are someone who is computer savvy and would like to help me out, please let me know.
Aside from the reading, all I've done since I've finished school is work and watch tv. It's getting kind of monotonous and I really need to break it up a bit. At least, I think I'm going shopping on Monday with Janita which will be good because (A) I'll get out of the house and (B) I can finish my Christmas shopping and never have to see the inside of a mall again until at least February and (C) I can hopefully find a pretty dress for the Christmas party. Honestly, I'm most excited about part C; it's been a while since I've bought a nice dress. Plus, I really like dress shopping even though I'm incredibly picky, which means it's also a good thing that Janita's coming with me because (A) she's fun and (B) she'll make me try on things, even if they're silly things *flashback to the last shopping escapade where I was forced to try on a hooker shirt, or lack thereof*.
Out of curiousity, when's everyone done exams? I need adventures! And I need people to adventure with me! That would be awesome!
*Sigh* I have to go get ready for that work thing. Maybe when I get home, my computer will spontaneously function again, but I doubt it.
