I can't tell you how many times "Professor Cortell" (the only title he goes by) has told us that certain things in International Relations theory are "sexy." He tends to throw the word around for terms like "parsimony," or "rigorous," or "relevant." And the way he says the word just makes us all kind of giggle, because he smiles and does this little shiver/happy dance sort of jump. It sounds creepy, but it's more like the giddiness you see in a small child who just found out that he/she is about to get ice cream. And then he tries to defend himself, "What? I can't say sexy?"
Well you know what's sexy Cortell? Researching for a 25 page International Affairs paper by reading French newspaper articles from the 90s and translating the quotes into English. Oh yeah, that's damn sexy!
Rewriting the first section of my paper. :-( That means....15 days= 1 final presentation, 25-35 pages (English), and 12-15 pages (French).... My progress thus far: I've got one page (English) I'm real proud of, and 6 more that look ok...kinda....
Isabelle is making us write our rough draft of our french papers in five days... 12-15 pages of French....she must think we have no life outside of her French class....boy is she wrong!
