Chuy has a cold.
I didn't even realize that cats could do that. I thought I heard her sneeze last night, and I had to stop to assess the situation for a moment. It sounded like a little tiny sneeze, though for the three and a half years that we've been living together, I'd never heard either of them sneeze, so I needed to remind myself that cats have all the organs that would make a sneeze possible.
Then she sneezed again.
It was adorable. Chuy has the cutest little pink nose, so it seems only natural that she would produce the cutest little pink sneezes. She also has weepy eyes and respiratory flem. Those aren't cute. Especially when she's wiping them off on my leg. But the sneezes make up for it.
I'm supposed to sit back, relax, and make sure she's comfortable for the next week, monitoring her symptoms. I can call the vet if her weepy eye mucus becomes so intense, it hinders her vision. That's fucking disgusting. If that happens, I won't even need to worry about calling the vet, as I'll just get a new cat. I'm not equipped to deal with crusty eye mucus. Are you fucking kidding me? That is parental shit. We're just room mates. We may have gotten to the point in our relationship where we're comfortable seeing each other naked, and using the bathroom with the door open, but I'm not going to be peeling crusty pus off of her eye socket.
Check, please!
