Where The Sun Meets The Sky

After a brief passage of time, they landed, and the Doctor instantly flung open the TARDIS’ doors. “There you go, Jabe of the Forest of Cheem,” he said, as they went outside. “One livin’, breathin’ Earth forest; all the sunlight and trees you could ever want.”
“Beautiful,” Jabe whispered, a smile on her own lips. She looked up, trying to see the sky and sun through the high treetops. Turning back to him, she said, “Thank you very much for this gift, Doctor.”
Before he had a chance to reply, to tell her she was welcome, Jabe urged him backwards, and up against the nearest tree trunk, the leaves of which told her it was a very old English Oak. In a low, dark voice, she said, “Let me show you my appreciation.”
“How you gonna do that?” he asked, in a similar tone, eyebrow raised, arms folded.
“With the air from my leaves, of course, Doctor,” Jabe said, easing his arms down. She grew a branch from her body, once again, and slowly circled it around his left arm.
“Of course.” He grinned that manic grin, before taking her left hand in his right another time, pulling her that little bit closer. Then he…kissed her, and Jabe was consumed in fire.
She died a little, and it was beautiful.
