I for one wouldn't mind at all if this plot bunny grew much much bigger... especially if it ends up Jack/Lex, cos OMG *THUD*

;)

Thank you!

On the bus, I found myself thinking about what computers and version of the Internet to give them, so I think it may well be bigger.

Argh! Research!

I need to watch Rosetta on Wednesday night.

especially if it ends up Jack/Lex, cos OMG *THUD*

Well, yes ;)

Version of Internet? In the future?? Wouldn't it be something like what they have on Firefly? Only probably with alien content as well? Have no clue...

I was actually thinking about 1989, but possibly influenced by alien tech. I do need to give Jor-El and Lara something to have sent the messages with, in the first place, but I'll swipe that from Birthright.

Ah, 1989, net not really public yet, mostly still military and academic use. Torchwood would definitely have net by then, probably running on Apple, and I can't remember the name of the network at that time, I should know this, but it's late and brain's shutting down.

But I'd definitely say influence by alien tech, or at least Jack's own personal improvements or some such.

Right, I'll give them grey screen, souped-up Macs. Which is what I was considering. Promise!

Here's an older document with Internet chronology before the Web became the standard.

Grey screen? Did they have grey screens back then? I remember black, blue... uh... I think that's all I remember. I was like, 8 that year. LOL!

According to the 1985-89 bit here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Macintosh, it would appear there were colour monitors by then. I'll need to give them Macintosh IIs, then, it would seem. I didn't know about them.

I wrote another 300 words on it, last night. Lex practically fainted when Jack swaggered into his office ;)

Oh, those! *looks though page*

Hey! I wrote my first fanfic on a System 7 OS!!

God, now I feel old... LOL!

Lex practically fainted when Jack swaggered into his office ;)

Oh. My. God. Though honestly, I think Lex would try to act cool, being a Luthor and all that. Hee... but damn, I can't wait!

You should be able to find the Rosetta script online which might help. I know I used the script of Relic when I was writing Jor-El as well as rewatching the episode.

Do you think I can get away with making Jack's wristband some 51st century Apple thing?
