After a bit of consideration, I'm changing my ISP to Bigpond on a $59.95 / 50GB monthly plan. Kevin will be paying 1/2 of this monthly cost. Obverall it compares favourably to my current plan, which is $59.95 a month (K pays about $10) which gets us 30GB + 10GB off peak. According to Kevin, the Broadband speed will be about 4 times as fast as it is now. Seems good to me. I can find a way of affording this if K & M move out, and I got a free modem in the deal as well, so when they do move out, I won't get cut off.
One difference is that the old plan didn't include uploads, whereas the Bigpond plan does. To counter that, there are sources from which downloads are free, like BigPond Unmetered.
Of course, we shall have to see.
