Finally, contact from the insurance company

Just got a phone call from "Val" from the car insurers about the damages on the car accident.

Before anything happened I told her to wait until I got something to write on. The last time I had a phone call it took me by surprise and after it happened I wasn't sure of the details. I found paper and pen, and when I got back on all the other person could say was "Could I speak to Ms Seabrook, please" assuming that I wasn't Ms Seabrook. I hate this, when I get a call from someone who's never met me and they assume that I'm not me. I rather tersely explained the situation and how annoyed such assumptions made me. She apologised and got down to business.

It seems the damage will cost $409.24 to be repaired and I either have to pay up front, or put in a claim for "excess" which is $450! I'm really lost here. Apparently I can pay it off somehow (I have to phone back and let them know what I decide) but I still don't really know the details of the accident! What if someone just put down my number instead of their own? bah - that will get me nowhere, but I'm also paying of $50 a month on my student loan which paid for the Rego costs on the car which can currently barely work.

Argh!

Not sure what to do on this. I pulled three cards from my "Mermaids and Dolphins" deck. They said:
Make a Wish
You're being Helped
Tranquillity
Hmmm. I guess I shouldn't panic. Maybe this is the "least of the evils". Suggestions, anyone?
