Hi all! I've had this open for a few days, trying to find time to write everything! Busy busy! There will be a lot of photos of fabric, and a fair bit of rambling!
I've been quilting! I have finished the actual quilting for both quilts. It was actually a lot more physical work then I thought it would be. You have to support and push the quilt a bit, it takes a lot out of the arms! Now I have to finish sewing the binding, and then sew and hand sew it on. Wahoo!
The only thing I don't really like is the batting I used. I bought some pretty cheap stuff, and after a while I found it pretty noticeable. Next time I'm going to go to the quilt store and see if they have better - I just hope it isn't too much more!
Oh, so my precious precious fabric!
First, I placed an order for my beautiful Terrain fabric. This is a gorgeous new line of fabric from Kate Spain! I received it, washed and spent about 4 days ironing and folding it all. :D I also cut a 2.5 inch strip from every piece, so that added some time. I LOVE this fabric. I ordered it mostly for me, and also because I think some of it will look great for mom's quilt.
Here is a little photo of the swatches. I want to get out and take a photo of mine, but I want to go outside and it's a little crappy out right now!
Next, I placed an order at Hawthorne Threads, my favourite fabric store! I needed to order some grey - the quilting store here didn't have any. I also ordered this set:
Bespoken by Patricia Bravo. I love a couple of the large flower prints, and I might order more. I just ordered some fat quarters, so good for a quilt or two!
As those of you who follow me on facebook know, during this order I ran into a little problem. I got the shipping notice in my email as always, only to see that they were sending it to Cambodia! I had picked the wrong country from the drop down menu! :( I am still a bit miffed that they didn't catch it, especially since I have ordered so much from them, but it was my fault. The lady was very apologetic, and I can only hope that it doesn't leave the States. Oh well, if it does at least I will have a nice story behind it!
Since I still needed some grey, I placed another order, and also ordered this:
Grand Bazaar by Patty Young. This isn't a fantastic photo of the set, but I love it! :D
Ok. so that's a lot of fabric. I wish I was done!
So. I have been in LOVE with the fabric line Central Park by Kate Spain - some of the prettiest quilts use it, and it looks so good. It's such a lovely, colourful line. Alas, it was out in the spring, and is essentially out of print. It's SO HARD to find a bundle, although you can find some of the prints still on etsy.
So. I was browsing around on etsy, as I am wont to do, and lo and behold - someone is selling a bundle of the ENTIRE line. It was in long quarters, which isn't too convenient, but perfect for small quilts, or quilts with lots of small pieces. I put it off, I really did. I waited 4 days to see if someone would order it, and no one did. So I did. Don't judge me! LOL.
Here's a photo of what the whole line looks like. Too bad you can't see the print better, but I will take photos! I'm so stoked to have ordered it that I'm using the word stoked. It's the only way I can describe my joy! :D
Now, I just need to keep working a million hours a week so I can pay my credit card off (my year's goal of having it paid off did not work. It's gone up and up and up, alas. If only someone would stop BUYING FABRIC I might be able to get it down! Too bad fabric is so pretty....)
I've been working a LOT lately - 4-5 shifts a week! This is a change from 2. I love the money, but the work is tough. I have been working a lot of the midnight shifts, which are a lot of fun at least. Tiring though!
Here all, have a link! I LOVE this song (Thank's Dani! :D ), but I don't really like the music video. So maybe just listen LOL.

Hum... what else.
Oh! I've got Teddy's Christmas present all worked out! He's going to kill me for spending so much, but I want to spoil him. Don't tell him though! LOL.
We had a fruit fly problem. Turns out, it was from a bag of rotten potatoes. So gross. :(
I'm almost done Audrey's costume! I can't wait to show you all, I think it's so good. I just need to topstitch around it, and add a clasp! :D She's so adorable.
I have a doctors appointment this afternoon - I think I have an ear infection. My ear HURTS. I also suffer from crippling self doubt whenever I decide to go to the doctors - I always worry that it's really nothing and I'm just wasting her time. For example, right now, the logical side of me knows that a) my ear hurts, has been hurting for a few days, and hurt a lot more this morning and b) if you leave an ear infection it could lead to permanent damage and I like to hear! However, once I made the appointment, I start to think things like “It's not that bad!” “Adults hardly ever get infections!” “I'm sure it will go away on it's own!” “My ear hurts a lot less since I showered, I'm fine!”
Silly me. Too bad, I made an appointment, so I'm committed now!
LATER! → I love my doctor so much. I think if I had her as a child I wouldn't have my strange doctor complex now :P. She looked in my ears, said she didn't see too much wrong, but that I shouldn't be in such pain, so have some antibiotics. She never makes me feel dumb. God bless her!
Does anyone know how to properly embed flickr photos in here? I love flickr so much more then photobucket, but the last time I tried to use it I failed.
Oh yeah, one last thing! I've started a pinterest account - it's a nice place to dump all the things that I currently bookmark then never look at again. In fact, it's a LOT like bookmarks, with photos! :D
