Life is good. It is always good. Sometimes it contains some disappointment but it is still good. I watch the Dr. Phil tip of the day this morning and he said to go out and have fun. He somehow managed to link the ability to meet the right person and get married to being a fun person. He said nobody wants to spend the rest of their life with someone who frowns, whines, and complains all the time. Interesting.
As far as the fundraising goes, I just got a signed football from the Detroit Lions yesterday. Yeah! We had our annual fundraising kickoff on Friday and I had to host the Friday Morning Meeting to announce all of our different events. The best was that I managed to convince our Exec. Staff that it would be extremely beneficial - for the kids - if we could throw a pie in their face. And they agreed! So our goal this year is $5800. That will allow St. Jude Hospital to stay in operation for 10 minutes. So far before we have even kicked off the campaign, I have raised $1532. All from Easter baskets and Valentine gifts, and yes, a little March Madness pool helped out too. I am super excited about this charity and hope that we do really well for them this year.
On another great note, all the blood drives that I have been involved in for the past year have exceeded the Red Cross goals and we are doing great. Every 1 person that donates blood has the potential to save 3 lives. Not bad for an hour's worth of work. Except I, unfortunately, am a bleeder and I can give a pint of blood in about 4.5 minutes. Even the Red Cross nurses are impressed!
So with all my great (yeah right!) charitable contributions and achievements, ATS has decided to give me a raise and a new title. Yeah! However, all that money will probably go to Hunter's education if he gets in to the Peoria Academy. He went to his screening yesterday and the teacher said he did very well. That's my baby!
I would like to send a shout out to Jenny M. who has faithfully hounded me about putting on a play and achieving a goal that means a lot to me. Everyone who has helped me stay on track with this project has been an absolute hero to me.
And lastly, I am truly saddened to see all the difficult times people in LJ world are being confronted with. I know I have been super busy and haven't been around the last couple months but I think all of you are wonderful people and if you need anything please let me know. Sometimes it can help to vent and rant to someone who isn't close to the situation and if anyone needs to do that, then I am here for you. Either call me or IM me if you need anything.
Toodles!
