Wow this was a hard one! But I had to go with Lois this time. She was totally working the ancient apparel. And nothing adds a little extra flair to an outfit like becoming possesed!

Aside from the bubble skirt (which is gave me horrible flashbacks to a 6th grade choir concert), I think this is a great dress, and aside from the more costume-y-costumes I've really liked a lot of the wardrobe I've seen for Lois this season.

I didn't actually see the SV episode so I might be biased but as a child of the 70's, I can't see ANYONE as Isis except JoAnna Cameron, who played the goddess in the god-awful-yet-kinda-awesome tv show "The Secrets of Isis":

I was GLUED to the tv on Saturday mornings just to watch that show!

"Oh, Mighty Isis!" *shivers with glee*

I've recently been watching She-Ra, He-Man, Bravestarr, and the Original Ghostbusters the one with the gorilla so I know what you mean about the awful yet kinda awesome tv shows.

"She-Ra, Princess of Power!!!"

:-D

LOVE IT!!!

The animation is awful, the acting so-so, the story-lines questionable, and yet.. those shows are so darn entertaining! Just goes to prove, there's a kid in all of us. ;-)

Having done some sewing in my life, I would say that it is not crinkle fabric, but rather gathered to meet properly with the ribbed fabric that makes up the shoulder straps and bodice.

That sounds like a helluva a lot of work, but it's a great effect.

Actually, it really isn't that difficulty for a seamstress to create that effect. What they may also have done is put a heavier material behind what appears to be muslin or a fine linen (doubt they would spend the bucks on fine linen) and then used a sewing machine to make the ribbing effects. You would get what appears to be a gather effect, but with a lot less effort. You just have to keep your stitch lines straight.
Now, doing 11 yards of 1 inch cartridge pleats, by hands through 3 layers of material...now that's hard :)
