Spring...

Another very busy Spring workwise, with an early start due to the warm spell in late February. Many of my desk projects for last winter remain unfinished (or yet to start).

There have been pleasant diversions over the past six months, and a few good weekends away within the UK, including a glorious Easter in London seeing Kew (and the Chihuly glass exhibits), and Box Hill. A short trip up to Scotland in March to see the farm and old family home for the last time before my brother leaves.

Last week I joined up with friends J & J for a day at the Malvern Show. A few showers didn't spoil the event, and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the enormous marquee of plants, browsing the numerous stalls, and taking a look at the small cluster of show gardens including this nice reflecting pool (which won first prize). I succeeded in not spending anything beyond lunch.

A social weekend, tea with a friend down from Scotland before we both went to visit our mutual friend A, recovering from an op. And then on Sunday, a short notice visit from cqg, over from Texas and in London for work. He travelled over to the Cotswolds where, along with T, we caught up on news over a traditional roast in a country pub before retiring to a sunny seat in the garden for more chatter. The three of us first met (through GCN) way back in 2003, and we reflected on our interesting journeys since. Great to renew these contacts.
