Stardust
I just got back from seeing Stardust. It was as good as I was hoping it would be! Quite good in fact. Definitely worth seeing. I hope to get the DVD when it comes out(assuming I'm not broke at that time).
The only thing I really missed that didn't make it into the movie was Tristran's ear. In the book he had one cat-like ear due to his magical mother. I'm not sure what happened to the second 'r' in Tristran's name either, but that's ok.
They also got rid of Tristran's step/half family, which made his family much simpler. I think that was probably a good idea for the film, since the details around his conception (which occurred on the same night his father got engaged, not to his mom) and day-to-day life would have been too much information given the length of the film.
