Rex didn't know much about the "visitors," the people affected by the flood, whatever. All he knew was that they thought they were from a Barge where the inmates were "bad" and the wardens were "good." Not too dissimilar from this, as far as he figured. Those in power always thought they were good. He knew nothing about his counterpart, how the "bad" Rex behaved, thought, felt about anything, and since nobody affected by the flood answered his question about the other Rex, he was left with this sort of blank... silhouette in his mind's eye. It was mildly annoying at first, then frustrating, then something he couldn't stop dwelling on. An obsession. Who was he? Who was he here, now? Did his other self have a strong will, or was he weak? Was he a scientist? How did he react to the horrific video of nanomite experimentation?

The phantom of his other self, all this talk of good and evil, better and worse, the lectures of his friends... Finally, finally, it started to make an impact, cut into the thick fog that had settled in his mind for so many months. Much as he enjoyed his last hit of V, he was going to stay away from it. He was. (Maybe.) Rex was resolved.

He was sitting alone in the dining hall, his nose stuck in some medical text and his plate piled extra high with food (well, with how much was allowed). He was trying to distract himself from his body's screaming for V, and he was making an effort to eat, despite the nausea. Rex looked up from his book when he saw Perry across the dining hall, his face lighting up as he waved his friend over. He was eager to show the other inmate his newfound lease on life.
