Heero had spent most of his day looking for two things: a weapon, and his warden. He'd had to settle for collecting pens in the pocket of his leather jacket and a letter opener that had been in his counterpart's room, which was definitely not ideal, but you could take out someone with a pen, if you had to. And he certainly knew how to.

Now he just needed to find Olive, and that had been harder, especially while trying to stay under the radar, until as he rounded a corner, he saw her walking down the hall. Or, really, more like staggering, using the wall for support, and immediately, he froze.

He didn't know what to do. Had she been hurt? What had happened? Where was this threat so he could get it out of the way before it hurt anyone else? What the hell was he supposed to do with her in the mean time? Everyone was a threat here, and they couldn't stay hidden forever.

She saw someone come around the corner and pushed off the wall, fully intending to just turn around and walk away, she didn't care who it was or if she thought they would help. Olive bit back another sob as she turned, though: her whole body still burned. Magic wasn't supposed to hurt his much, was it? It wasn't fair.

She was hurt. He was angry, and angry with himself for getting distracted and not being there to protect her, and confused about what to do to help.

He took a step closer.

"Olive."

She stopped and looked over her shoulder, blinking hard until Heero stopped looking so watery.

"Finally." She didn't grab him and head for the nearest warden only area like she had planned to. She'd figured hiding in the CES would be the smartest thing to do, but all she could manage right now was to lean against the wall and slide down, using the heels of her palms to wipe her eyes and cheeks. Her mascara was smudged; she didn't really care.

He had... literally no idea what to do. He didn't know how to help or what to say, but he did know one thing: they couldn't stay here.

It took another several seconds before he was down next to her, carefully taking her by the arm.

"We have to move."

Olive wanted to say that she couldn't, that she felt like the soles of her feet were going to burst even just sitting here - but she was more afraid that someone else would come along than anything else.

She nodded, and started to stand, before a sudden alarm bell went off in her head. "You're not - you're not affected are you? Oh God, please tell me you're not affected."

"I'm not." And good thing too, from the look of it. He was pretty sure that his counterpart wouldn't have been able to do anything to help... although admittedly, he might have been better with comforting her.

Although right now, he wasn't sure that was the only thing she needed.

"Can you walk?"

Sucking in a deep breath, Olive nodded, and reached back to start pushing herself to her feet, but she faltered. "Help me," she said, trying to hold back the whine and failing miserably. She wanted to go home, she wanted her mom, she wanted to hide behind her dad, this wasn't fair.

He immediately stooped to help her, trying to be gentle while actually pulling her to her feet. He didn't pull away after she was on her feet, knowing he would probably have to help her move. "Lean on me."

She had a good five or six inches on him, which would make the gesture a little awkward, but he could take her weight and she needed the support. Once they were somewhere safe, he'd ask about what had happened and try to treat her injuries as best he could.

She got to her feet with half a sob, but it was getting easier to move. Barely, but easier. He didn't have to tell her to lean on him, because she really needed to. "Where do we go?"

"My room. They won't look for you there." He wanted to ask who was responsible and what they'd done, and he'd be lying if he said he sort of wanted to kill who'd done it, but that had to wait. He carefully started moving down the hall in the direction of his room, hoping they didn't run into anyone on the way.

Again, pens weren't the ideal weapon.

She wasn't sure why they wouldn't look for her there. He was her inmate, wouldn't someone check? Sniffing, Olive limped along with him, biting her lip in a misguided attempt to distract herself from the pain. "I told people I was looking for you."

"Then if anyone shows up looking for you, I'll tell them you're not there or kill them." Which was probably not what she wanted to hear, but he was being dead serious. He wasn't going to let anyone else hurt her.

She didn't even try to contradict him. Right now, she'd take killing Sirius over ever feeling like she had when he cursed her again. She couldn't bring herself to say anything, though, and blinked her eyes when they started to sting again. She just wanted to get out of the hall.

He was quiet on the way back to his room, trying to get there quickly while still being cautious of the other people who could get in their way, but fortunately, they made it back in one piece.

He opened the door, shut it behind them, and quickly ushered Olive over to the bed, making sure she sat down before looking at her seriously. The room was a little more formal - and frankly, more flowery than anywhere Heero had ever stayed before - and definitely different from the spartan dorm room he usually lived in on the Barge.

"What happened?"

She wondered why there were flowers for maybe two seconds before sinking onto the bed and hunching over, still aching. "Sirius surprised me. He used his wand, he - God, I didn't know it could hurt so much..." She rubbed her face, letting out a long, shaky breath.
