"You're looking pale, there, bro," Wanda commented to Tony a little worriedly as she dug in her pack. Water canteen, Power Bars, some apples and oranges...she tossed him an orange. "It's Miller Time without the Miller, heroes, what do you say?"

"Thanks." He took the orange and, after peeling it almost frantically, he devoured it. "How much food do we have?"

Luke reaches into his own backpack and pulls out one of those energy bars, biting off about half in a single bite. "If you want, we can always go back and cut up that raptor Frankie killed. Speaking of which, that thing isn't going to turn into a vampire raptor, is it?"

"It won't if we go back and eat it."

Franklin had been seated on a branch above them, enjoying the view and shade. The raptor blood had been plenty to fill him for a good while, even provided an energy boost. He chuckles and shakes his head at their conversation. "You're kidding, right?" They weren't. He hops down from the branch, landing on his feet. He decided to explain, enjoying the opportunity to share something they didn't know about ( ... )

"I wouldn't mind cooking us up some raptor steaks. You guys have more'n earned it. Orange, Luke? I got a bunch of them."

She looked up at Franklin and gave him a brief smile, tellingly not put off by the talk of blood. "I'm glad it was drinkable. You think the meat would be any good?"

He didn't think Wanda would be put off by that. She seemed like the sort to have read every version of Dracula out there, including the versions with annotations. To her question, he shrugged. "It should be. A better question would be what effect the meat would have on you lot. For all we know it's poisonous to humans."

"Sure, toss me one," he says as he holds up a hand for the orange.

"Honestly, probably be better off not worrying about it. Not sure about the rest of you, but I'm not in the mood to skin and gut anything. And I'm pretty sure that there's probably been plenty of other things at the carcass now and I don't feel like eating after something else."

"The raptor might've drunk from you. I didn't notice." When they took the notion of the raptor off the table, Tony said, "Okay, then I'll need like...ten powerbars. Do we have ten powerbars?"

"I don't want to think about vampire raptors coming after us for revenge. Those things seemed almost intelligent and were dangerous enough as it was." She tossed the orange and then started peeling one for herself.

"I have a dozen in my pack."
