Rose gave herself time to get a few sniffles out, listen to some loud music, and collect herself. And then she decided to resolve things -- since whenever Rose and the Doctor fought and stopped talking it typically ended with him coming to find her, yes, but there was often something terrible happening. Better to avoid that. So here she was, entering the Doctor's cabin and using her key to the TARDIS to enter and find him. She didn't know if he'd be there, but if he wasn't then she'd wait.
