Tony suspected that Dorian's alcohol would be a punch of expensive stuff that would be totally foreign to him, so he went ahead and brought a six pack of Moosehead Lager, which he was more than willing to share with anyone who wanted some.

David Bowie. Cool. Damn, JD probably would have loved it here. They'd probably have danced, gotten drunk, and had sex in a closet or something. Tony chased the thought out of his mind. JD had been gone for months, and as depressing as it was to know that even if he forged a new relationship with someone else that they could vanish as well, it was best to enjoy the company of those who were there while it lasted.

Dorian had been making his rounds and at some point in the evening made his way over to a man who was drinking something strange from a very small bottle. He perched himself down beside him.

"Hello there... my name's Dorian," he smiled and reached a hand towards him to shake.

"Hey," he greeted, shaking Dorian's hand. "I'm Tony. You're the guy throwing the party, right?"

"Indeed I am," he glanced again to the small bottle, and gestured to it. "I was going to ask if you were properly supplied with wine, but it seems you've brought something of your own. What is that, by the way?"

Dorian was, always, curious about new things.

"Beer. Want some?" Tony offered Dorian an unopened bottle. He probably wouldn't like it if he was used to wine, but hey, who knew? Besides, at least it was Canadian beer and not the crap people drank south of the border.

Beer, not so foreign a thing, and certainly an invention Dorian was aware of, however it was not to his preference.

"Thank you, Tony, but no, I have wine and would hate to deprive you of your beer..." he was being gracious. He missed this, being the host, chatting about nothing serious.

"Cool," he said, shrugging and putting the beer back before taking a drink of his own. "You got good taste in music."

"Ah, that, I must admit, is all Adrian's doing," he said, gesturing to the blond man on the sofa, chatting with the Marquis. "He has shown me a moving picture called the Labyrinth, and promised to bring musical recordings by him. David Bowie," he added, incase the man didn't know. "It's strange and has coarse rhythms, but the vocals are lovely."

Tony nodded. "When are you from again?" He was pretty sure Dorian was from before Bowie.

"Eighteen ninety," Dorian gave him a vaguely amused look. It was rather an amusing question, and he was certain not the first time he'd been asked today. "And you? I imagine some time later..."

"2006. So yeah, just a little bit later."

"How strange," Dorian mused. Then something seemed to click for him, and he smiled, "Was it you who responded to my earlier posting to say the barge has finer points?"

It was here that Dorian gave the other a brief once over. He fancied it was not noticed, but with drink, his actions were slowed down and pronounced. He was, in fact, checking the boy out.

"Yeah, that was me. This is probably one of those finer points." Then he noticed Dorian checking him out...and he grinned, checking Dorian out in turn, not even bothering to be discreet.

Oh, well that was interesting, and quite welcome indeed. Dorian smiled and it was clear that he was very much in his element, good drink, good music, beautiful people... yes, this was indeed a fine point.

"I do apologize for that... little rant, I suppose, I have been feeling awfully overwhelmed by this place..." he waved a hand to signify the gravity of the situation, and carried on, "After so many mentions of carrying on for new experiences, I decided to fill the lack of fine points myself. It may not be much, but it's something..."

"No problem. After some of the things here, I get it. And hey, this is the sort of fine point I was talking about. Dancing, hot guys, free booze...well, I brought my own, but that was free, too. That, and like...food and stuff being totally free."

"Well then," Dorian said, with no small note of interest and pleasure, "I'm quite glad that you have come, then..." he lay a hand on the boy's shoulder as he spoke.

A party of this nature could never have too many young men like this.
