He was running. The leaves of bamboo stalks whipped across his face. It was behind him, he knew it. The crashing of the canopy in the distance was all too familiar. Jack's legs wailed. They wanted to stand still and hid but his heart wouldn't let him. He heard a blood curdled scream not twenty feet infront of him.
"KATE!" He cried out.
TCHA TCHA TCHA TCHA was coming from behind him. No. To the side of him. The clockwork crashes of a hidden beast had him surrounded and his heart faltered. He couldn't move, as the fear had clutched him so. Jack found a wall and slid down it. He couldn't even remember how the monster had found him. He was off the island. It couldn't follow him here... could it?
With breaths that were as ragged as the rising tremor in his hands he closed his eyes... and started to count to five.
