[Brennan glances up from her work when Spock enters. What's that thing in that book she's been reading about getting along with your coworkers? Oh right, observe the niceties.]
Reading a math book published on a planet he'd never heard of, Adric took notes and solved complex equations trying to understand 'Vulcan' logic. The theories, so far, seemed sound, and he was intrigued by these people's skill with numbers, though it was nothing he couldn't outdo if he put his mind to it.
Brennan was walking through the library, looking for an empty table where she could sit and work on her book. She didn't notice the young man until she'd almost tripped over him.
Most people would have said 'excuse me,' but the niceties of human interaction were lost on Brennan, so instead she said, "Customarily, people leave enough room for others to get by."
Being a teenage boy, and having been reminded of his interaction with Tegan in the past, Adric's reaction was to snap back. "Customarily, people look where they're going."
Nonetheless, the boy scooted in, moving out of the way for any future passers by. Then he returned to his equations.
