Who: The Rani, Namor, eventually Martha
What: Old plans of the Rani's come to fruition.
Where: The Rani's cabin
When: Sometime before the Barge goes into lockdown.
Warnings: Scientific experimentation shading into torture. Namor's going to be somewhat the worse for wear after this.
The Rani had been quietly modifying the dehumidifier in her room such that it gave her rather good control over the relative humidity level, ranging from average moisture all the way to desert-dryness. This was key to what she had in mind for Namor. The amphibious human intrigued her and she wasn't about to pass up the opportunity to learn more about him. His comfort in the matter was somewhat beside the point.
(Something in the back of the Rani's mind nagged at her, noting that 1. Martha Jones would be really displeased by this and 2. perhaps this wasn't exactly ... nice? But that was one of those Doctor-ish, other-self-ish thoughts that she firmly believed had no place in a rationalist's mind, and she ignored it. Mostly.)
Statler had helpfully supplied some saline bottles, which could be used to store blood and tissue samples. A thin blade had been procured at some point during the flood (though her double had different reasons for doing so), and not returned. The microscope was ready, as was the computer. It was far from an ideal laboratory setup, but it would do.
The Rani waited for Namor patiently, no pacing or agitation. All in good time.
