Kahlan had noticed Shinzon's silence ever since they'd gone to port. She couldn't blame though, she knew he was still upset with her. But she didn't press the issue and really didn't say much either beyond a few sentences every now and then. She was too preoccupied with the mass amounts of people and the large buildings to really worry about anything else.

When Shinzon stopped to look at the clothes, Kahlan stopped as well. It was fascinating the things people wore in this world. Sure, she wore her leather traveling pants and corset under her Confessor's robe, but for the most part she was accustomed to long dresses that weren't so revealing.

"Yes. He gave all the wardens a card to pay for anything we want," she told him, taking the credit card from where she kept it and showing it to Shinzon. "Although, I'm not sure how to use it." The card was a puzzling little thing. It had to be magic of some kind to be used in place of coins.

He glanced back at the cards, then in at the store again, wondering if there were clothes for men as well. A frown crossed his face as he spotted the name of the store; Saks? This city held strange things.

"It must work like credits," he said distractedly. "Perhaps it taps directly into your savings. Or rather, the Admiral's savings." He looked back at her, eyes moving from head to toe. He wasn't one to speak, always wearing his jacket, but she never wore anything else. And he rather liked some of those pieces on display.

"Use it." He gestured to the card, nodding toward the store.

She looked at the store and considered his suggestion. She was unsure about it all. Her current outfit was a sign of her status and she wasn't entirely certain she was ready to give that up. It was almost like she would be turning her back on her heritage if she did. On the other hand, this was a port and she was supposed to be enjoying herself, so why not see about a new wardrobe while she was there?

"Do you think I should?" she asked, turning her gaze back to Shinzon.

He pursed his lips and arched an eyebrow. "I did suggest it," he murmured, already moving toward the door. He wondered what they carried for men - he wondered what Kahlan would look like in some of these clothes.
