McCoy wasn't smiling exactly but there was a lift to his lips that gave him away. For once it was directed at Pavi, not just the solid ground and blue sky- the sea air. Lord it was good to be on real land again.

"I know." He answered, patting Pavi on the shoulder as he adjusted his own pack and walked passed. "I thought you were born on an island." He commented, turning to see if Pavi was following or wanted to enjoy the view further.

"Not - like this," Pavi said, stumbling after McCoy without really paying attention to where he was going. "It was more..."

In a rare incident, words escaped him. Dead, dark, unpleasant? When it was all he'd known, Sanitarium would have registered as completely normal, but compared to this...

"...it is hard to explain. I will show you the recordings from home, sometime."

"Well I have to admit, even back home nothing was this-" McCoy glanced around. "-untouched."

He continued walking into the wooded area, more in a stroll than a hike. Lord knew they wouldn't be enjoying solid ground for long or anytime soon after this. He made a pointed effort not to go down that road regarding space and everything you lost exploring it.

"Careful Pavi, it almost looks like you're enjoying yourself." He said wryly as they walked.

Pavi shrugged. He wasn't going to admit that maybe this - whatever it was - wasn't a wholly terrible idea after all, but the change of scenery was enjoyable enough to counterweigh the irritation of spending time with McCoy. And the wildlife was - well, some of the insects were practically cute compared to the warped monstrosities you'd encounter back home.

"Of course I would not give you that satisfaction, dottore."
