It was such a shame to bring the missing components back to the TARDIS, but right now, the Master's more interested in saving his own skin than Barge takeover. Perhaps he can turn this situation to his advantage, take over as the others are struggling with the Borg... Such blatant opportunism is certainly his style, after all, but the Master's not quite certain it would be wise. The others would be so alert and on their guard that any victory of his would likely be short lived.
So, for now, the Master will play nice. A good deed can have its rewards, after all.
Besides, it feels good enough to simply be in a TARDIS, engineering a weapon, just like the old days-- well, not just like the old days. There's the bothersome matter of the Doctor's presence, after all, and the fact that this isn't even his TARDIS. How he misses the old girl, sometimes.
