WHO: Libby and Angel
WHEN: After the flood
WHERE: Libby's room
WHAT: A game of Connect Four and some personal discussion
She'd started out by moving the coffee table between two chairs, but it didn't take long to set the grid up and separate the discs into two piles, according to color. It was quite possibly one of the easiest games to set up and learn, as far as she was concerned--a quality that made it an ideal pastime in Santa Rosa. The fact that she'd gotten an item she associated with the worst period of her adulthood as a present during the kid flood signaled to her that she was still too lost in that part of her past. If she didn't let someone in on even a little of it sooner or later, she might never be able to make peace with it.
She wondered how much Angel was willing to share about the tragic story of the woman he loved, and how much she should share with him.
Hopefully the game would serve to lighten the mood--she didn't plan to dredge up anything horrible, anyway. They were going to be talking about love, after all.
Finished, she settled into a chair and waited for the knock.
