WHO: Mal, Jayne, Kaylee, Tony, Giselle, Loki, and Rose WHERE: Dining Hall WHEN: After the fire in the kitchen is put out, I imagine WARNINGS: None that I can think of
Rose made her way to the dinning hall, trying to put any and all thought of a certain person's reappearance behind in her mind. She hadn't really talked to him yet but what she had heard from Mal and what he spewed in his journal just pissed her off even more. What the hell was he trying to pull anyway with that name?
Pushing that thought away and drawing in a breath, she saw Janye at the table and approached giving him a small smile and noticing the lack of people. She was actually early for once. Imagine that. "A bit impatient aren't you? I'm sure they'll be along." she said pulling back a seat and sitting.
He watched Rose as she walked up. She seemed nice enough, not that it really mattered to Jayne whether she was nice or not. "If you spent as long a time as me out in the Black with nothin' to eat but canned goods and protein bars, you'd be impatient too," he replied.
"Canned goods and protein bars?" she repeated with a raised eyebrow. Well that certainly didn't sound all that good. "The Black? That's--" Well it could've been one thing then again it could've been another. "Where's that? Or what is it?"
"Space," Mal replied for Jayne as he entered into the dining hall. Well, two of them were there. So long as Loki and Kaylee showed, they'd be set. He wasn't really sure if Tony would come or not, but he expected to make this a regular spectacle and so one or two missing each time wasn't a real loss. Only time everyone seemed to make it together on Serenity for a proper meal was birthdays.
Pulling out a chair, he came to sit next to Jayne, across from Rose, and offered them both a wide grin. He was happier than he'd been in awhile just being here with a crew again. It didn't really matter if they never had jobs so long as he had people to rely on and to help; it was what he had been doing since the war and come to learn he was good at it. Looking at Rose, he looked concerned for a moment. "How you been since that Doctor talk?"
Jayne didn't say anything while Rose and Mal talked. He had nothing to say anyhow and what they were talking about didn't interest him. He uncrossed his arms and leaned them on the table wishing food would come already. He barely glanced up when Giselle came in, but when she asked about drinks he perked right up. "You bet your sweet ass I am. Whatcha got?"
At the sound of Mal's voice the blonde turned her head towards him and nodded in acknowledge. Right. Space. That had been her first guess really. "Ah, good to know." She leaned back in her chair, relaxing and wondering when the others would show. Probably only a matter of time, not that she was in any rush in the first place.
Rose glanced at Mal giving him a bit of a grin and tucking some loose strands of her behind her ears ever so casually. She hadn't really talked with the Doctor yet and the last time they had spoken...well, that had been eons ago really. "Good, thanks." she said reassuringly though really she wasn't sure. She still didn't know what to think.
"So, is it really that hard for you lot out there?"
Tony's tongue was healing. It wasn't better, it still hurt, and maybe eating solid food wasn't the best idea, but after a few days of living off of smoothies and slushies, he was ready for something solid. Besides, now he could even say a couple words. He wasn't going to be talkative, but he was determined to go.
Entering the room, he sat down and, with Giselle's question answered, "Beer?"
It was something cold, something he liked, and since one beer wasn't going to make him drunk it wasn't like he was going to make a fool of himself. Besides, it was something different than the semi-solids he'd had for the last few days. Though he'd had worse and more repetitive eating conditions in the past, he wanted to enjoy something different if he could.

"I'll have beer," Jayne said, still watching everyone. Other than Kaylee and Mal, he really had no idea what to make of any of the new crew members. Rose seemed all right. Giselle too, though she was a mite too cheerful for Jayne's liking. The other fellas he didn't know anything about and, therefore, couldn't determine what he thought of them. Though he wasn't too sure of Loki.
"哎呀, sorry for bein' late Captain!" Kaylee all but rushed in, taking a seat and giving the group of people she didn't yet know a cheerful wave. Which was-- everyone that wasn't Mal, Tony or Jayne.
Speaking of, she slid Jayne a glance. "Now don't you go scarin' folk off. They seem plenty sweet."
"Ain't too bad," he replied to Rose with a grin, giving Jayne a look. He didn't want his new crew scared off too quickly. As Loki, Giselle, Tony, and Kaylee entered, he cast them all wide grins and waited. His gun was tucked into the holster on his belt, but he appeared entirely at ease with them, despite barely knowing most of them.
"Jayne, Kaylee.. You mind givin' Giselle a hand?" It wasn't so much a request as an order. It gave him a minute to get to know the others. Tony was still injured, Rose was having the emotional sorts of troubles women--except Zoe--always seemed to find, and Loki seemed more than a little like he was the sort to make trouble. Like Jayne had been, before they'd really been established.
Looking over to Giselle, he thought for a second about his drink choice. "And you got any cider to drink?"
He looked at Mal when he was ordered to help Giselle. It chapped his ass somethin' fierce at times when Mal ordered him about, but Jayne was on his crew and had to do what he said. No matter how much he liked it or not. "Sure, Mal. Whatever you say."
He stood up from his chair, intending to do what he was told, when Loki smiled at him real annoying-like and introduced himself. Jayne stared at the proffered hand with his eyebrow raised. He left the table after a moment, completely dismissing Loki and his handshake. "Come on, Kaylee," he said to the girl as he neared the kitchen, "let's get the food 'fore we go hungry."
Pushing that thought away and drawing in a breath, she saw Janye at the table and approached giving him a small smile and noticing the lack of people. She was actually early for once. Imagine that. "A bit impatient aren't you? I'm sure they'll be along." she said pulling back a seat and sitting.
