Who: Jensen, Penny, and anyone else who might want some free food
When: Afternoon
Where: The kitchen
What: Jensen tests his cooking skills

Jensen was by no means a five-star chef. The Food Network wouldn’t exactly be hunting him down anytime soon to ask him to co-host a show with Emeril or something. Everything he knew about cooking (which really wasn’t much) was self-taught, learned mostly by necessity and by screwing around in the kitchen to see what would happen. Still, he thought as he eyed the meal he’d made with something akin to pride, he hadn’t done a bad job. He’d wanted the food to be perfect, had been willing to settle for ‘not deadly’, and had somehow landed somewhere around the vicinity of good. He wasn’t sure how the fuck that had happened, but it was awesome. Better than awesome! Things were coming together pretty well, bringing him that much closer to fully executing The Plan.

The Plan had been a few days in the making. The talk with Cougar had gotten Jensen to thinking about a lot of things. Mainly about being a better boyfriend. Amongst other things, he’d come to the conclusion that just because they’d danced around one another for ten years in a really weird courtship-type thing it didn’t mean that they couldn’t have all those things that just starting relationships had. Like a first date. So, ever since then he’d been stealing time here and there to plan a date for himself and Cougar. Dinner had been an obvious choice and, after hunting down a recipe for one of Cougar’s favorite meals, he’d set to work on cooking a sorta test-run of the meal to make sure he could make it. What he needed now, though, was a second opinion.

Jensen had tried the birria himself and thought it was good. He’d even go so far as saying it was really good but he didn’t want to go on his word alone, that wasn’t enough. Yeah, sure, he thought it was good, but would anyone else? He needed someone else to taste-test the food. Someone he trusted. And the first person who came to mind was Penny. She was smart and she’d be honest with him. Plus, she could cook, so she had a way better idea of what she was talking about than he did.

Decision made, Jensen wiped his hands on his apron, and then quickly left the kitchen for the second floor. He came to a stop outside room #203, wiped his hands clean on more time, and then knocked on the door.
