After that last post, the days around here just went a little crazy! Well, Tuesday was fairly uneventful, but it did start to snow, as promised. Dr. Ursin let out class early, so that was cool, and there was still choir, which is always a good time. It snowed pretty much the whole evening, I think, and I'm pretty sure at some points it was freezing rain...
Enough for McDaniel to cancel classes! Granted, I still got up and showered as if I were going to class, but I should have read the college website before I did all that and give myself some more sleeping time. But, I went back to sleep, went to lunch pretty late, and then watched The Blair Witch Project with Jessie, Shannon, and Stacey, and hung around their suite in DMC for a while. Then, despite the snow and ice, I went out to dinner at Denny's for Valentine's Day with a group that Libby had arranged, and I have to say, I liked that arrangement. Just good friends together for a meal. =) Got back to campus, and randomly decided to join a tea party that Evan was hosting in Ensor Lounge, featuring a passion fruit and peach tea from Hungary which was very good. From there, Libby and I made the trek to the golf course to join Amanda and Jason for sledding!!! All the snow was frozen solid (it pretty much still is), so the slopes were fast and dangerous... it was a great time! Then, I did some more sledding with them on the "slopes" in the areas between McDaniel and Hill, and Blanche and Whiteford. There were jumps and landings and injuries and tumbles, but it was all good. Then, we had hot chocolate with Charissa and Jess, and went back out for sledding. Even after Amanda and Jason had left, the three of us were basically out until two in the morning sledding. And despite slamming into a railing and other bad injuries... I have to say that it was the best Valentine's Day that I have had in a while.
The next day, classes were still cancelled. Good thing, too, since most of campus was still frozen, and a lot of stairs didn't exist anymore (some stil don't...). So, I had a late lunch, did even more sledding on the golf course and even across Rt. 31 behind the Best Western, dinner with Amanda and Jason, a random gospel choir rehearsal which wasn't mandatory, fondue and games in Libby and Charissa's room, and then I went back to my room to wait for a bid...
...which actually never came. I was pretty disappointed when midnight came and went, so I think that I probably did want to join. But, I'm not completely broken up about it. Greek life probably isn't for me right now, and it does ease a lot of pressure about time and money. Plus, I have plenty of friends that I can hang out with any day of the week. ; ) Too bad classes were still on for Friday.
But after classes on Friday, everything was much better. I got to give another tour, which turned out alright, and then Friday night was very interesting... dance parties then massages afterwards, then sleeping on a shared air mattress... oh yes. =) Saturday was equally as chill. I will be doing a ballroom dance with Rachel in the Dance Co. recital, so we started listening to songs we might want to do the dance to. Best parts of Saturday: going to the Mudd Puddle in Frederick with Megan and a whole rack of McDaniel people to see Casey and Sam perform. They did really well! Then, of course, it was time to get back and have some fun in the Omega's clubroom, which was fun after a while.
Sunday, since I was so tired, I didn't get up for brunch, but instead, got up for helping Kristen to prepare the CCM dinner, which turned out great. Then, we went to mass, and after that, I sincerely made an honest attempt to get work done... too bad it took me nearly the entire night to do it...
Today was equally as busy. Not much sleep, so I rolled out of bed and into classes. Had to give a tour today, since lots of people came up for President's Day. Helped the Madrigals with a song that is in Brasilian Portuguese. Worked the call center and had a great time as always. Fashion show rehearsal. And of course, I am so tired I could pass out.
So this is where I peace out. Leave some love, and stay in touch everyone.
God Bless!
