This guy walks into a psychiatrist's office, wearing a duck... life is just a blur.

I apologize to all of my devoted fans out there. I realize that I have not updated in ten whole days (or as xanga would say, "wow, that is a big number!"). But, it is not without good reason--I have been so busy within those past few days, it is not even funny. Literally. Well, there may have been a few humorous moments here and there, but that just about defeats my point, now, doesn't it? Hmmm... ok, why don't I actually get to the entry now, huh?

Practices for the show became more intense as we moved forward. Eventually, it would be that we ran just about the whole show each night, but really, that is nothing new to Magruder drama. The only new thing about it, I suppose, was that we had less days of dinners provided by parents, and Mr. Goldstein did make more of an effort to get us out of practice earlier. And then, of course, I would come home, thinking that I was not tired at all, when in fact, I would pass out on my bed as soon as I lay down. The whole week of practice seems like something of a blur, now that I think about it. I find that I am having more trouble remembering what I did specifically on each day. And, as maddening as that is, I also realize that to a certain extent, it's kinda satisfying... although a lot of the practices did seem crappy, we were making progress at the same time. Soon, when it came down to the last dress rehearsal before opening night, it seemed like there would be no way we would be ready--people didn't have complete costumes, cues were being missed, people were being injured right and left... would that translate into an amazing opening night?

Somewhere in that week, I had the option of attending the Forensics awards ceremony at Kennedy, since I did well enough in Humorous to make it all the way to finals--a first for me! Ultimately, I decided not to go, because I realized just how important it was to go to practice for the show instead. I ended up getting fifth place in humorous, and a trophy, which still stands proudly in our living room. Hey, it's not first place, but it is still something to be proud of.

Now, to the good stuff... opening weekend... yeah. =) Weeks of erratic rehearsals finally culminated into a performance that was... not so bad! Granted, there were a few mistakes, but for the most part, opening night was really OK. We had energy, and the audience reacted at the appropriate times. I feel that it was all well worth it, and was generally satisfied with the night's performance. Plus, the cast party at Pam's house was a nice way to to wind down the night, and see some alumni as well, like Sara, Monica, and Rafael. Saturday's performance, in comparison, was so much better, it was amazing! It flowed much more smoothly, and we even pulled off a standing ovation from the crowd. Alright, so what should have been a key moment at the end of the show was kinda ruined, but other than that, the show was great. After that, it was benefactor's night, then the cast party at Brett's house. The first two performances have already come and gone... I find it almost surreal that my career with Magruder drama is almost over. But you know what? I'm going to make the best of what I have left. =)

My future seems to get more and more exciting as time passes, and it seems to be passing all too quickly. This week, we have a matinee on Wednesday for only a portion of the show. Then, Thursday brings Senior breakfast, which marks a slow descent into the end of high school for the Class of '06. It also means the end of the quarter... umm... yeah, so, there's still time to bring grades up, right? Then, there is a performance Thursday night, of course. Friday there is no school, but we still have a show, then another kickin cast party. Saturday will finally be closing night, and ZINI at Laura's... my last ZINI (and I will probably be staying over this time as well), my last show... it will be over all too soon. Then, it will be Senior banquet soon enough, Senior skip day, spring break... wow... never imagined that it could be this close this fast.

Plus, I should be hearing from more colleges within the next few days. The Mount just sent me their financial aid package for me, and it totals about $27,000; total costs for Mount: $32,000. Not too bad, but let's see what Dickinson says...

On a final note...

I miss my youth group! Come and see the show! (that last part goes out to everyone who reads this...)
