I'm in a Youth Hostel in Taipei, Taiwan right now, just outside the main station.  Since I neither read, write, speak, nor understand Chinese it's a bit bewildering.  But I do have a local contact here (Anne) and I'll carry on as best I can.  I've got lots of stuff to write about, but no time right now.  So in brief: I made friends on the ferry, they took me from where the ferry docked (Keelung) to Taipei.  I just got back from Anne, her boyfriend, and her sister taking me to a Night Market for a dinner of random (and in some cases unidentifiable) food.

Oh yeah, and cjthomas, that GPS receiver might just qualify as "Best Gift Ever".
