OUaT DRABBLE: Ice Cream for Three

Author's Notes: This is a slight AU of some of things after Season Three of 'Once Upon a Time' mainly the only thing that you have to know is that Ruby and Whale have gotten together. Written for the writerverse for Challenge #37: Weekly Quick Fic Amnesty

Summary: It's Ruby and Victor's two years anniversary and she has some news to share.

Ruby was nervous.
She had went to the hospital thinking that everything was alright, that she was just jumping the gun but the test had came back and they proved that she hadn't been jumping anything. Luckily she ran into Victor as she was leaving the hospital and that that night was their two years anniversary of being together. So she didn't need to think of a reason to go to his home so that she was there when he got off. She had to do some convincing though to get him to agree to a simple dinner at home instead of the fancy dinner eating out that he had planned but once he agreed to it she left the hospital. She stopped by the shop on the way home and grabbed a few things before she headed to his home, that she had a key for. Once there, she started making his favorite meal and getting the place ready for the big news.
It was almost seven when Victor got home and he seemed really out of it as it enter the door, hung his jacket on the back of it, and set his keys and case on the table by the front door.
“That bad?” she asked stepping into the doorway between the kitchen and the living room.
He turned and give that grin of his that she loved so much. “It could have been worst,” he said as he stepped closer and wrapped his arms around her to pull her close. “Mmm....something smells delightful.”
She chuckled as she pulls away from him. “I just hopes that it taste as good as it smell.” She took hold of his hand and led him into the small dining nook where she already had everything set and read to go. Together they sat, ate, and talked. Sure, Ruby knew that to anyone else it would have seemed like any other night between a couple, not an anniversary but she changed that after they finished their main meal.
“How about dessert?” She asked as she stood and started moving the plates from the table.
Victor leaned back in his chair, “I don't think I could eat another bite.”
Ruby smiled though her back was to him. She cleaned off the plates and set everything in the dishwasher. She then moved to the freezer and grabbed the ice cream that she had gotten, she turned to him and held it up. “It's cookie and cream, your favorite.”
“You know me too well.”
Turning to the counter, she grabbed the bowls that she had gotten for this night, careful not to let him see what they were. As she scooped out the ice cream she started the next part of her plan. “Victor?”
“Yes.”
“I have something to admit. I wasn't just at the hospital to see you.” She glanced over her shoulder to see if he was listening.
He was staring right at her, a concern look at his face. “Is everything alright? Are you ill?” He stood and moved beside her before she could stopped him.”Is it someth-” He cut off and she knew that he had seen what was on the counter. She had thought it was a good idea at the time but then he was looking at the little bowl and spoon made for babies and all she could do was smile at him. “Are...are you...?” She nodded and didn't hold back the laugh as she suddenly found herself being picked up off the floor into a huge hug and kiss. Once he set her down, he bent down so that he was level with her stomach and placed a hand on it. He grinned and glanced up at her, “How?”
She chuckled, “Well, you see Victor, when two people love each other very much -”
He rolled his eyes at her, “You know what I mean. I'm the head doctor at the only hospital in town. How did you keep it a secret from me?”
“Nurse Lilly, she ran the test and everything for me and I asked her not to say anything to anyone until we got the results back.”
Victor grinned again as he stood and pulled her to him for another kiss. When he pulled back the grin was gone and for a moment Ruby was worried that he suddenly didn't want to be a father.
“What's wrong?” she asked.
“Can we hide Granny's crossbow before we tell her?”
Ruby laughed. She grabbed the ice cream and his hand, and started pulling him towards the bedroom. “I think that we should finish this in the bedroom.”
He smiled, “I couldn't agree with you more.”
