WHO: Open invite. WHAT: THE New Year's Eve party. WHERE: Meromero Karaoke Bar WHEN: December 31st 2009 - January 1st 2010 WARNINGS: Where there is alcohol, everything is possible.
[confused would be the general emotion all over. Sad thing is he's not entirely sure why he's angry. Does he have any right to? After all Sakura was just pointing out the obvious. sfdhsfSIGH. He's heading over to a vacant wall over yonder to look over the party and take a break from the alcohol Hell behind the counter as he steams over the wonders of life, combing his fingers through his hair-]
[And if that vacant wall happens to be close to the exit, one Hyuuga will find his way there sooner or later. Bathroom breaks are never an excuse he would use, but a bit of fresh air was nothing he could object to, at least until someone ends up in the way of him and the cold night. He can't exactly walk past just like that, nor does he really want to. His pace slows down as he approaches, nodding briefly]
WHY IS BAD ROMANCE PLAYING RIGHT NOW AUGH ADGFGSKimpellereJanuary 21 2010, 18:15:22 UTC
[Of course it would be. Such is fate, amirite? Naruto's looking up at the sound of approaching footsteps, feeling sorry for himself now far from his mind. Up until he sees that it's Neji. His expression. It is so unamused.]
Sorry, ma'am. Ditching isn't allowed at this party.
[There's a point when a guy has no will left to ignore the ladytalk, so his only chance at evading redundancy is to play along in the snarkiest manner possible.]
[Yeah. That's what he was going for.] S'long as you come back-
[Glances down at that and his tie is in fact untied and hanging there around his neck, collar unbuttoned. It had gotten a bit too stuffy behind the counter and somewhere along the line he had lost his work vest. Not that he entirely missed it...]
Heh. These things would be a bitch for someone that didn't know how to tie them... [Cough]
[Halts in his steps for a moment, barely audible as they are with the music only a room away. He seems to change his mind after a few seconds, however, and continues on his way.]
[Five minutes before midnight is completely punctual and a good time to throw a cold Neji back into the crowd. Someone presses a glass into his hand before he has the time to ask for anything (and he is ever so smart enough to put it down on a random table on his way).]
[It's four minutes to midnight when Naruto heads back to the exit. For air? Maybe. That can be later. He's quite sure he'll need it some point after getting back in touch with Hyuuga. Oh where, oh where has that little wife gone-]
[Ah, there you are pale-chan. Here, have a hand grabbing your wrist. Not tightly. Just casual. But still; random hand coming out of a crowd here. Maybe you should look at it's owner, hm?]
[If its owner were not you or other few choice people, they would surely regret it. As is, Neji recognizes the hand before he even bothers to seek out Naruto's face, but that doesn't make him less perplexed.
Still, he turns toward the casual tug, perfectly fine with giving up the lead for a minute because this is Naruto's place, his sort of premise, and it very damn well is his turn to take action.]
[If it's owner were not Naruto then they would have no more hand to grab anything with in the first place. And since he's in no mood at all to be patient he's not waiting for somebody else to bump into them or lay their fingers somewhere they should not be.
The bar is starting to get more and more crowded now that midnight is nearing, all the television sets tuned to that blaring street in New York, the ball taking up most of the screen. However, that's the farthest thing from his mind as he tugs Neji along to the edge of the madness. A place where he can have some room to breath and less of an audience.]
I'm not good at this talking shit, Neji. [He speaks normally even with the music blaring. There... wasn't much thought behind this. Aahah~]

Surely freshening up is.

[He crosses his arms. Probably to try and make himself look unphased or to puff himself up like an angry, emotionally constipated kitty. Take a pick.]

I left my coat by way of pledge; if I bail, it's probably worth five times the amount of what I've had to drink so far.

You shouldn't go too far. It's almost midnight...

And everyone is here. [nudges on with the conversation.] . . . You need to be here, too. Y'know. Good luck and all.

[and so he goes! with vastly more relaxed features as he moves down the hallway. and adds, briefly after passing Naruto] You should redo your tie.
