Oh, it smells like spring! We've had two warm days in a row (ha -- warm, being over 60) and I want to lay around in the sun all day and start my garden and dance a jig. It's not spring, though, not by a long shot. I will still have a month or two at least of scraping ice off my car every morning and wearing gloves to drive 3 minutes to the train. Anything I plant now would never survive the killing frosts, even with lamps and heat pads in the garage. It's a false spring, but it's so beautifully promising.

I really like living in the East Bay rather than in San Francisco itself (where it is almost never warm)...it's freezing here in fall and winter, but at least the summers are sunny and hot. No beaches, though, and no friends...so it's hardly ideal. Never the less, Denise is going to try to come up in April to mess around in the dirt with me, and I am going to have a whopper of a garden :)
