Chapter Four - Valentines

"Perfect." Key smiled, admiring his handmade chocolates. He had skills for baking and Valentine's Day gave him an excuse to go all out, baking some cupcakes along with the small heart-shaped chocolates. He made a small box for Tae, Minho, Jinki, and his parents; not forgetting to include a certain puppy-eyed man, he eyed a white box which looked larger than the others. He definitley wasnt playing favourites, he just owed Jonghyun a lot right now. This was just a simple way to thank him and show the older man his sincere appreciation.

He placed one cupcake in each box, all of them garnishing a red heart, except for one. It had the name 'Jong' with a heart. He really didnt do this on purpose, Key thought to himself. He was just experimenting and Jonghyun's turned out to be the only one he did it on. Nothing super criptic or wrong with that, right? Trying to convince himself as he decorated each box differently for each person. He woke up extra early that morning to pack all the gift boxes, not worrying too much about Tae and Minho's since they were in Jeju Island. Focusing all his attention on Jonghyuns....and the others of course. He hasn't been this excited to celebrate Valentines until now, and he had a small inkling on who was the cause of his excitement. A blush painting his cheeks as he finished wrapping ribbons around the boxes.

Key's favourite holidays were Valentines Day and Christmas. He just loved giving his loved ones gifts, it made his heart warm and happy.

-Buzz-

The latters phone notified him of a text. Key noticed the name on the screen and smiled. Picking up the phone, he wiped off any flour or cream that may have fallen on it while he was baking.

From: Jong<3<3

Morning~ Wanna walk to class together today?

Can he ever say 'no' to Jonghyun? He can.....but...he doesnt want to.

To: Jong<3<3

Sure! Meet me at the university entrance?

From: Jong<3<3

Great, see you later bummie <3

Despite the annoyance of his hardcore flirting, Jonghyun really knew how to make Key smile. Finally finishing his beautiful creations, he packed them and left a note for his parents. They left early the second morning in a row, they were probably really busy with work and everything, he sighed; he felt guilty that his parents felt like they owed him the world. Looking at his handwriting, he hoped they finished early today so they can enjoy Valentines Day together. They truly deserved it.

Happy Valentines Day Mom & Dad!

Today is the day to celebrate your love.

Thank you for being the best parents a son could ever have.

Enjoy the chocolates and cupcakes!

I love you <3

Glancing at the kitchen wall clock, Key saw it was almost time to meet Jonghyun so he began to pack up his school bag and leave. He was excited to walk to class with the elder, and he was extra excited to give him his Valentine's Day gift. Not forgetting to place the boxes in cute gift bags, he made some final adjustments to each one and started off to the university. Key had a skip in his step and a big smile as he walked. He couldnt help but imagine all the scenerios of getting to witness Jonghyuns reaction to the gift. He really hoped the older man liked it.

Finally arriving to the gates, Key noticed Jonghyuns figure, along with a pretty long-haired girl who looked like she was sizing up his 'man'.

Ahem....he coughed to himself. Definitley not his man, just kidding. He watched sadly as the girl gave Jonghyun a small gift with the biggest smile on her face. Jonghyun, being a nice human being and all, accepted her gift and bowed slightly; looking a bit awkward but still 'too nice' in Key's opinion. He grimaced at himself for being so posessive. It's not like they were together. And if they ever did get together, in whatever magical way, Jonghyun will end of leaving him for someone far better, far prettier and someone who could give him a family.

"Key!"

Breaking out of his inner self-damaging thoughts, the younger noticed Jonghyun waving him down. God, he looked so hot. Did the older man know what he did to him? Or that he even looked like a carved-out sculpture? Probably. He was a damn narcissistic flirt. Smiling and waving back, Key walked over to Jonghyun, not expecting the older man to pull him in for a hug.

"H-hey Jong!"

"Hey bummie. I'm happy to see you." The elder smiled at him, Key stil trapped in his arms, hands around his waist keeping him there. "You saw me yesterday," Key chuckled, "but I'm happy to see you too." Both of them couldnt help but gaze into one anothers eyes and smile gently. Feeling comfort in the embrace.

"What's this?" Jonghyun noticed two gift bags wedged between their bodies. Key's heart suddenly started beating fast, eyes wide.

"Nothing!" Suddenly not wanting to give Jonghyun his gift anymore. He tried hiding the bags but unfortunately, Jonghyun was faster and stronger. The elder took the bags from him and saw his name labeled on one of them. Eyeing Key, who was giving him a worried look, "This isnt nothing, my name is on it. So it's mine." Jonghyun smirked, proud of himself.

Key gave up. "F-fine. It's for Valentine's Day. Mostly a 'thank you' for everything kind of gift..." the younger trailed off, trying to find an excuse as to why Jonghyun gets a gift after only knowing one another for less than a week. Key started walking to class but not before snatching Jinki's gift from the older as he started walking away. Jonghyun chuckled to himself and went after the younger, catching up to him.

"Wow bummie, thank you. You really didnt have to." He smiled at the younger, leaning forward to peck his cheek; not allowing Key to think before asking "What about the other one?" Curiosity laced in his voice.

"J-jinki-hyung." Key stuttered out, shocked at the kiss.

"Oh, okay." Jonghyun nodded, smiling to himself.

Key was too embaressed to face or speak to Jonghyun now. Thoughts still lingering on the kiss he just recieved and the gift the older man got from the pretty girl, box coming into view from Jonghyuns jacket pocket.

"I-I got you a gift too...thought i'd thank you for....being my friend," Jonghyun suddenly blurted out, interrupting Key's thoughts. 'Friend'.

"Here!"

It was a ring. A really beautiful ring with a small diamond on top. It wasnt extravagant, it was simple, Key's favourite. "It was given to my mom by my father when they first met. She gave it to me after he passed..." Jonghyun trailed off, unsure of his next words. "I-I wanted to give it to you." He gently smiled at Key, waiting for a reaction.

Speechless. Key didn't know what to say, he was honoured but felt confused and troubled at the idea of the ring. Especially when it came from his mother, Key couldnt accept this. "God, Jonghyun this is....not a gift....this is...."

"I know. Please," Jonghyun looked at Key, pleading for him to take his gift. "It would mean the world to me. We're becoming almost like best friends right?"

Best friends? Key scoffed. Best friends dont make-out with eachother Jonghyun, he really wanted to say. "Okay." WHAT?! Why did he just say that?! He can't take it back now, can he? Panic filled Key's mind.

"Great." Jonghyun smiled in relief. He took Key's left hand and placed the jewelry on the youngers ring finger. Wow, Jonghyun thought to himself, it looked like it belonged on Key's finger. This ring created something unspoken between them, something they would secretly cherish with all their hearts.

"Thank you Jong, it's beautiful." The younger couldnt help but lift his hand and admire it. Smiling shyly to himself, dimples painting his face. Jonghyun's favourite.

"Very." Key looked up, feeling Jonghyuns stare. They looked at eachother, words at the tip of their tongues that were unable to come out.

"Guys!" Startled, the couple looked to their side and saw Jinki walking towards them. They took a few steps back from one another, trying to hide their blushing faces from their overly-happy friend.

"Happy Valentines Day!" Jinki wrapped both his arms around Jonghyun and Key's shoulders, bringing them back together despite their effort to create space.

"Happy Valentines Day hyung!" The couple said at the same time, glancing at eachother then looking away soon after. "Here, hyung. I made you a Valentines Day gift." Key said, handing Jinki his bag of goodies.

"Wow Key! You're the best, you truly out-do yourself every year." Jinki smiled happily, already taking out the box of chocolates and cupcake. "Awe! This is so cute Key!"

Key smiled at his older cousins reaction, "I'm glad you like it hyung."

Watching Jinki open his gift, Jonghyun suddenly wanted to see his too. Opening his bag, he noticed a red letter on top of a big box of chocolates. Wait a minute, Jinki didnt get a letter. Jonghyun snickered to himself, happy that he got something extra special from Key. The older took out the cupcake and saw his name with a heart next to it.

"Wait, why does Jonghyuns cupcake look nicer than mine?" Jonghyun looked up at Jinki, who was pointing at Jonghyuns cupcake and compairing it to his. Jinki's cupcake didnt have his name, just a heart. Plus Jonghyun's was a smidge bigger. Jonghyuns smile grew.

"I-I was j-just....s-stop complaining or else I'm never doing anything nice for you ever again!" Key yelled at his cousin, his face crimson from embaressment as he trudged to class, leaving the two older boys stunned.

"Well, enjoy that cupcake Jonghyun. You've officially taken over Taemin's number one spot in Key's affection list." Jinki laughed wholeheartedly, teasing Jonghyun as he started walking to his class too.

Jonghyun was dumbfounded. First, Key gave him a gift. That much he should be grateful, however, Jinki's words kept ringing in his mind. Number one. Affection list. He took out the red paper inside the bag and read it.

Forever your bummie.

Forever my Jong.

Smiling like an idiot, Jonghyun put the red paper back and ran to catch up with Key, noticing him already walking into class. Once he caught up, he placed his hand on Key's lower back, subconsiously guiding them to their assigned seats.

"So, what time should I pick you up tonight?" Jonghyun asked, glancing at Key who was taking out his notebooks. Key didnt drive but he also didnt want to bother the older man with picking him up and dropping him off. He'd be grateful but-

"7pm?" Jonghyun said, sounding eagerly excited about tonight. Well seems like Key wont be saying 'no' to Jonghyun. As always.

"Yeah sure! I'll text you my address." Key genlty smiled, blushing. It felt like he was going to go on an actual date, not like he hasnt been on one before but this time was different. This time he was head over heels crushing on the person he was going with. Usually it felt forced, this felt.....easy.

"Okay," Jonghyun smiled at the younger, a certain thought came to him, "how do you feel about motorcycles?"

"I like them, I guess. Why?"

"Nothing, just wondering thats all." They glanced at one another, smiling, stealing one anothers breath away. They both started paying attention to their teacher once she started class, time going by fast as the couple spent the day talking and laughing together. All the while, Key couldnt help but over-think, was he too in over his head? Jonghyun was slowly becoming more than a best friend, and this thought scared him drastically.

-Later-

Hearing the sound of the bell, it was already time to go home. Jonghyun and Key walked close to one another, shoulders and hands slightly brushing every now and then as they walked. Reaching the university gates, they stopped to separate and say their goodbyes, however, something was stopping them. They havent kissed all day, too engrossed in eachother as they spent their time laughing and talking. But here they were now, facing one another, waiting for someone to make the first move. It was either they kissed now, or kissed later. Key didnt want to risk it, already feeling his chest become a bit stuffy and his breathing fasten; not thinking it might be because of his nerves. As though Jonghyun read Keys mind, the older didnt give the other a moment to think before he leaned forward to kiss his lips.

This kiss was different. Felt different. It was deep, filled with passion and desire. It was one kiss, however that one kiss made Key's heart race faster as he leaned in more. He liked this kiss. He liked it a lot.

Lips leaving his, Key's eyes widened, this was the first time he noticed the stares of his schoolmates. He was always so lost in the kiss that he never realized the whole school would witness their PDA. Right now? Half the university was watching them. Some people looking sad and disappointed, while others looked angry and heartbroken. They just emotionally damaged their schoolmates, was this why Key didnt get any gifts this year? Because Jonghyun was at his side, hugging him and kissing him? They probably thought they were DATING! Oh god. Key's mind was going haywire, at least he didnt have to deal with anyone confessing to him for now.

"Don't mind them, theyre just jealous I get to kiss the hottest person in school." Technically in the universe, but Jonghyun didnt think he needed to add that.

Key looked back into Jonghyuns eyes. There was something hiding behind those eyes, something the younger was slowly becoming obsessed with. "I'll see you later?"

"Yeah, see you at 7. Are you sure you dont want me to take you home?" Jonghyun asked for the millionth time that day.

Key smiled as he rolled his eyes at the older man. "Yes im sure Jong. I live really close and I could really use the walk. I'll text you when im home. Okay?"

"Fine," Jonghyun sighed and grumbled, "dont forget okay?" Looking at Key nodding fast, signaling him to go.

"I wont. Now go!" Key laughed, pushing the older away and turning around to leave. Jonghyun smiled and walked over to his motorcycle, he took out the helmet and put it on. This was why he asked Key about motocycles, he didnt want to freak out the younger just cause he didnt own a proper car. Now all he needed to do was find something suitable to wear for the night.

-Keys home-

"What the hell do I even wear?!" Key yelled at his phone freaking out, looking through each hanger of clothing.

"Why are you so stressed out? I thought it wasnt a date?" Taemins mocking voice came through the speaker. "Shut up Taemin."

"What? You're the one that said so, plus, don't you think that him going out with you tonight, must mean something. Maybe not to you perse, but to him?"

"I dont know how many times to tell you this Tae, but Jonghyun is accompanying me as a friend. That's it. Plus Jinki is fricking forcing us to go." Key responded, getting annoyed at Taemins antics.

"How was today's kiss?" Key can hear the smirk through the phone. "Fine, fine,  I wont tease you anymore." Teamin chuckled through the speaker.

"Can you please help me now?" Key asked impatiently.

"Okay okay. Why dont you wear some black skinnies and a turtle neck? You always pull off a turtle neck."

"Shouldnt I be showing more skin, not hiding it?" Key asked confused with the turtle neck suggestion.

"No Key, listen to an actual pro. You want to leave them guessing and wanting for more, not eye fucking you throughout the whole dinner. As if you dont want that." Taemin said the last part a bit more quietly, but Key heard non-the-less. Rolling his eyes, he saw exactly which turtle neck Taemin was talking about.

"Shut up Tae. I dont even know why I deal with you sometimes." "Yet you love me SO MUCH!" Key smiled. Yeah, he truly did love Tae with all his heart. No matter how much his friend teases and pisses him off. Putting his phone on speaker and to the side, he picked out the perfect outfit with the help of Taemin.

Finally done figuring out his outfit problem, Key let Taemin go to enjoy his time with Minho, not before thanking him of course. He stopped to admire his outfit in the mirror. Black skinny jeans shaping his legs perfectly, making his ass look even more plump than ever. He also wore his black turtle neck and paired it with a black velvet suite jacket. He looked good, really good. His gaze wandered down to his left hand, silver diamond ring in sight. Key sighed, it felt too important, too heavy to wear on his finger. He didnt feel deserving.

Taking his mind off of the ring, he finalized his look with shiny dress shoes and a watch, he gives himself one final look, and starts off back into his room and out of his walk-in closet. It was almost 7pm and his heart was beating so fast. Was he too dressed up? Should he change? Does his hair look okay? A million thoughts a minute crossed his mind until a text woke him out of his dazed state.

From Jong<3<3

I'm outside~

Key couldnt help but smile, Jonghyun made him so happy. Even a text telling him he arrived, made his heart skip a beat. Replying a "Coming!" text to the older man, Key grabbed his wallet and made his way to the front door of his house. Opening the door, he saw Jonghyun leaning against something that looked like a motorcycle. Was this what the older was going on about in class? Key couldnt help but smile at Jonghyuns cuteness. He made sure to lock the door behind him and walked up to the older man.

"Hey." Key smiled, a blush painting the youngers face. Jonghyun looked so sexy leaning against that motorcycle, helmet in his hands, eyes watching Key patiently. He was wearing black dress pants, a white dress shirt that showed a bit of the olders chest, a leather jacket and black dress shoes. Damn, he was a sight to look at.

"Hey." The older smiled back, moving off of his bike and towards Key, "I didnt realize you lived in a mansion." He chuckled. "It's my parents, they like the extravagant life I guess." Key replied, embaressed at the sight of his home. Jonghyun smiled and handed him the helmet in his hands. "Ever rode one before?"

Key shook his head 'no' as he took the helmet from Jonghyun, hands brushing slightly making them both blush. "Well todays your lucky day." Jonghyun held out his hand for Key to take, leading them to the vehicle. Jonghyun put on his own helmet and then mounted the bike, holding his hand out again for Key, he led him to sit behind him. "Make sure you hold on tight." Key heard the older say, "Oka-EEEK!" Arms quickly wrapped around Jonghyuns waist as Key held on for dear life; the motorcycle speeding down through the neighbourhoods and into the highway. Either not kissing Jonghyun will kill him or this damn bike will, Key thought as he held onto Jonghyun tightly.
