*written last night, delayed posting due to LJ flipping out*

I hate the boss on 110F of Tartarus. Hate it with a burning, blazing passion. Four times now I have ventured forth to slay it, and four times been pwned by a move the guide says he "might" use but that's "okay because it usually misses." fuck you, lying beast of a strategy guide, he ( Read more... )

He was using it like 3-4 times per fight. I do not approve. And then Mitsuru and Yukari would be all "Diarama!" on him and I'd be like are you freaking kidding me wtf.

All I can tell you is put your guys on support/heal hope they use dis-charm, and use some magic reflect stuff. If I remember right, that boss didn't have much health try burning him down fast. Having two healers in a party during that fight is not the best of ideas. If your having a really hard time make some weapons that resist charm, combining any lovers persona + weapon = charm resist weapon.

Most of my time my party consisted of Myself, Mitsuru, Aigis, and the dog (can't remember his name off the top of my head). Almost never used Yukari, she seemed to die too often. I used Mitsuru for ice and healing, Aigis for physical attacks, the dog for death attacks and fire attacks, and just switched up my persona for whatever I needed at the time. The dog was perhaps my best err...dog on my team, only real weakness was light attacks and most light attacks are inaccurate. With his great speed and great health, made him very hard to kill.
Never put Yukari and Aigis on the same team, any lightning attacks will just kill half your party.

The reason I had Yukari in this particular group is because she's strong to wind and its other attack is Magarudyne, which is why I can't (for example) bring Junpei despite his brutal attack power because he'll suck it up from wind. Maybe I'll switch out Mitsuru for Akihiko.

I do actually have some lovely nihil weapons and I could buy back Narcissus from Elizabeth to fuse into them. That's a great suggestion, thanks!

If I'm not mistaken, I think there are items that heal your entire party from charmed status; stock up on those at the store if you can. Failing that, what is the weakness of the boss? Instead of just doing the all-out attack, you can try to time it so that it's "down" for its attack every round, provided it has a weakness.

I'm not sure of the specific battle you're talking about, but I know I didn't have a problem with it. The only time I died in the game was against some of the "hard" (glowing red) enemies on the latter stages, because they can hit for 150+ HP to everyone in the party, and come in pairs.

Amrita Waters, yeah, but I only have 3 of them, and I'm pretty sure I can't buy them (I got them off an Elizabeth quest.)

It doesn't have a weakness :( I can pretty much spam physical attacks and that's it. angst and woe!

The glowing red enemies in this area own me hard, mercilessly and without lube if I don't get Player Advantage off on them. it's very sad.

Le sigh. I'll go back to it tomorrow with more levelling.

A better thought:

Fuse yourself a Narcissus (Lovers Level 20 or so, if I remember correctly), make sure it has a heart, and then get it all of its skills (shouldn't take long). You'll get a Narcissus's Flower, which guards against charm. Then pick up some Amrita water from the antique store (three or four should suffice), and some Dis-Charms. Equip the Flower on the main character and laugh at the dancers =)

They upped the success rate of the stat ailments because they were pretty close to useless in the original, due to their low rates at equivalent levels.

BTW, getting the heart items is a big help in The Journey (especially the ones that null elementals and Light/Dark - give them to the other characters to keep them standing), and nearly essential to beating The Answer at any sane level.

IF you're really paranoid (or greedy?), you can record Narcissus (or any other Persona with a heart item) just before they produce the item. Get the item, then fuse or discard the Persona. Buy a new copy and fight the one battle to get the item again.

Note that this doesn't work in The Answer, because you don't get a Compendium.

Sadly, I already recorded Narcissus after getting the heart item, so I can't do that little trick again. But I'll keep it in mind in the future!

Actually, you can. Just re-fuse him. You can re-record him at the lower level without a problem. Worst case scenario, just take two up-to-date Lovers and fuse them with each other, repeating the same-arcana fusion until you get down to Narcissus

He should be low enough level now that he'll get his abilities quickly this time around - lower level = more EXP from fights.
