So that's that, then.
So yesterday was a bad night. I was all out of control emotionally, which ended poorly (i.e. I burst into tears over something completely stupid and inconsequential, and I *knew* it was stupid and inconsequential, and yet. Argh.) Many thanks to persona for putting up with me, and to wrenbow for just being totally awesome.
Anyway. I decided I was going to conquer Xenogears amidst doing a few loads of laundry, so I fired it up in the new shiny PS2 and hopped to it.
Well.
First go-round I start on, and die horribly at, Metatron. Sigh. Reload. Second try I manage to start with Sundel, who pwnz Rico and Maria but Bart manages to take him down. Swap out Rico and Maria for Emeralda and Chu-Chu, keeping Bart in even though he's hurt. Next up it's Marlute, and since Deathblows are not an option I'm really glad I got Emeralda in there with her awesome magics of awesome. Take Marlute down, look at my HP's, decide that it's tempting fate to try for Harlute or Metatron. Swap out to have Fei, Citan, and Billy because they're awesome. I did okay for a while, but then just got crushed, and was super annoyed. And I can't even go and level up or whatever because I can't leave the dungeon. I am irritated. Also I hate that in this stupid game it only matters how much money I spent on my gears and not how good I am at the game or how much I've levelled.
As a result, I'm done with this game. It's just going on the completed list because I'm never going to touch it again, and I'll read a damned script to find out what happened. Ugh.
So having gotten annoyed with Xenogears, I moved on to reading the instructions for Vagrant Story. wrenbow and I both went SQUEE at the introduction, which bodes well :D We'll see how long I tolerate the action combat system. Although I did all right in Kingdom Hearts, so we'll have to see.
At any rate. My head is pounding and I've still got 7.5 hours to go. This should be awesome. And by awesome I mean quite the opposite. On the plus side, I'll probably be able to beat Kefka in Final Fantasy VI Advance today, thereby opening up the optional stuff I've not been able to do as of yet. Hurrah.
