So I got up this morning and had Mom's excellent quiche. Then we drifted along to the beach. The surf was ridiculously powerful--waves kept knocking everyone over. If you could get out past the breaking point it was lovely; just getting there was the problem, plus the undertow was flat vicious. I exhausted myself several times, and currently my leg muscles ache like a bitch from fighting the current. Mom and I roamed the boardwalk a bit and got funnel cakes, which acquired us a flock of eagerly crowing seagulls. They're brazen little bastards up here--a few years ago one snatched a sandwich right out of Aunt Linda's hand, and two of them beat me about the head with their wings today (unintentionally, I think.)

I watched Amy for a little while to give Alison a break--with three little ones to watch, I figured she could use it. I"m thinking of introducing Amy to Neopets--I'm sure she'd love it and Alison said it was all right. So that'll be fun. Amy's sweet.

Bad side effect of the beach--I put on sunscreen twice, but I still managed to get burnt. The backs of my legs are pinkish, as are the tops of my shoulders and my cheeks. My back is a deeper shade of pink, and the backs of my knees and a stripe of my back around my waist got burnt a nice red. *sigh* Thank God my mother is smart and brought aloe vera with her. :) it's helping. Of course, it's not helping my temper, but you can't win 'em all.

Tomorrow's supposed to be stormy last I heard....Nope, downgraded to just rainy now. Either way, I think I'm going to go see The Bourne Supremacy with Mom. And, of course, read. I'm about halfway through Enchanter now. I have several bets on what Azhure is and who the Dark Man is. I'm thoroughly curious to see if I'm right. *smile*

shoecollar went away to restart and isn't back yet. I should really go to bed and rest my poor sore back.
