Weekend assignments

Sep 29, 2002 02:02

Note to self: Never, ever again take two 300-level history classes, a 200-level history class, and a 200-level language class in the same quarter. Such foolishness results in homework lists like the following:

Latin:
Read Cicero's Pro Caelio in English
Translate the second sentence (which stretches 10 lines.)

History of Imperial Russia, 1700-1917:
Read Cherniavskii pp. 72-100
Read "Petrine Reform Legislation"

European Thought and Culture: The Renaissance:
Read Machiavelli's The Prince

Social and Intellectual History of Modern Britain:
Read textbook chapter 1
Read Carlyle's Past and Present, Book I; Book II chapters 1, 6, 9-13, 15, and 17; Book III chapters 1-4 and 7-12; Book IV chapters 1, 4, 5

Yep, and I work both days this weekend. I love being a Northwestern student. Truly, I do. *tries to look earnest and trustworthy*

Of all that list, I've read the Pro Caelio and the textbook chapter for Modern Britain. Which leaves....all the rest. Yeah. I'm gonna go work on the Russian History stuff. *nodnod*
